    摘要: Apparatus and methodology for discharging static electricity from a vehicle which uses a discharge mechanism that does not contact the roadway (Earth) when the vehicle is in forward motion to reduce, or completely avoid, frictional wear on the discharge mechanism. In one embodiment, the displacement between the discharge mechanism and the roadway is obtained by way of wind force generated by the motion of the vehicle itself. A properly oriented and hinged windscreen attached to the conductive path discharge mechanism can be used for this purpose. Other embodiments including magnetically controlled lifting and holding devices can be used.

Bend elbows are provided to prevent severely short bend radii and, thereby, prevent breakage of glass fibers or deteriorated transmission due to insertion loss. Removable splice cover hides splices. Laser test beam can locate optical fiber breaks.

    摘要: A first signal is received from an initial quantum key generating transmitter via a single combined channel that includes a first quantum signal and a public data signal alternating in a time shared manner. The first signal is split into first and second split signals. A low attenuation is applied to the first split signal when the first split signal includes the first quantum signal. A high attenuation is applied to the first split signal when the second split signal includes the public data signal. The first split signal is received at an intermediate quantum key generating receiver (QKGR) when the low attenuation is applied and a first quantum key is generated. A second quantum signal is transmitted to a recipient QKGR and a second quantum key is generated. The first quantum key is encoded using the second quantum key and transmitted to the recipient QKGR.

    摘要: One embodiment provides an apparatus for material deposition. The apparatus includes a reaction chamber, and a pair of susceptors. Each susceptor has a front side and a back side, and the front side mounts substrates. The susceptors are positioned vertically in such a way that the front sides of the susceptors face each other, and the vertical edges of the susceptors are in contact with each other, thereby forming a substantially enclosed narrow channel between the substrates. The apparatus also includes a number of gas nozzles for injecting reaction gases. The gas nozzles are controlled in such a way that gas flow directions inside the chamber can be alternated, thereby facilitating uniform material deposition. The apparatus includes a number of heating units situated outside the reaction chamber.
