摘要: A trap for a birdhouse, the moving parts of which are attachably and detachably integrated with bearing, aligning, and attaching features which are permanently part of the birdhouse entry hole panel, achieving reduction of trap structure and greater convenience of use. A pivoting gate is set above the entry hole within the birdhouse, and is retained there by a trip assembly. A bird entering the birdhouse, and alighting on the trigger extension of the rotatable trip assembly, caseus the trip assembly to disengage from the free end of the pivoting gate, which falls, blocking the entry hole ad trapping the bird within. The trap includes a structure to facilitate removal of the trapped bird. The trap has structure to allow an option of sensitive or stable trap settings.

摘要: A nesting structure for cliff swallows is disclosed which provides spaces for multiple pairs of these colonial nesting birds to build their nearly enclosed mud nests. The self-contained structure independently provides the shape, size, rough surface texture and multiple nesting opportunities preferred by this species, and is conveniently attached to, or removed from, buildings, bridges or freestanding posts. The structure provides a wide roof overhang along its length to protect all underlying nests from sun and rain. A back wall establishes a uniform ideal height for all nests to be built by the birds. A narrow floor provides a solid footing for cliff swallows to anchor their adhesive mud nests without providing a sufficient base for undesirable species to build their loose, unattached grass nests. The compartmentalization of nests permits the inclusion of roof or back wall access doors away from the front which the swallows will nearly enclose with mud. The access doors allow for human inspection of the otherwise inaccessible nest interiors.

摘要: The invention provides a process and apparatus for the separation of a gaseous feed comprising a mixture of hydrocarbons and nitrogen gas, the process comprising the steps of: (i) cooling and at least partially condensing the gaseous feed; (ii) feeding the cooled and at least partially condensed feed from step (i) to a fractionation column comprising reboil to produce an overhead hydrocarbon vapour stream enriched in nitrogen and a condensed hydrocarbon product stream low in nitrogen, wherein prior to the fractionation, the feed stream is divided into at least two streams including: a) a first stream which is expanded and fed to the fractionation column; b) a second stream which is expanded, heated and fed to a lower stage of the fractionation column than the first stream, (iii) removing a hydrocarbon product stream low in nitrogen from the fractionation column; and (iv) removing a hydrocarbon vapour stream enriched in nitrogen from the fractionation column.

摘要: A process is described for separating the heavier hydrocarbons from a gaseous hydrocarbon feed wherein a first separator is employed to separate partially condensed gaseous feed and wherein the vapour portion undergoes work expansion and is fed to a fractionation column. The liquid portion is subcooled in heat exchange with the overhead vapour from the fractionation column, expanded, evaporated to provide refrigeration at a low temperature level, and fed to the fractionation column. The rewarmed residual vapour is subsequently compressed to a pressure suitable for export, with a portion of the compressed gas being cooled, condensed and recycled back to reflux the top section of the fractionation column. Also described is a process wherein a first separator is employed to separate partially condensed gaseous feed and wherein the vapour portion undergoes work expansion and is fed to a high pressure wash column. The liquid portion is expanded and fed to the base of the high pressure wash column. Bottoms liquid from the wash column is subcooled in heat exchange with the overhead vapour from a fractionation column, expanded, evaporated to provide refrigeration at a low temperature level, and fed to the fractionation column. Vapour from the high pressure wash column is partially condensed, with the liquid portion used to provide reflux to the high pressure wash column and the fractionation column. The processes are especially applicable to recovery of ethane and heavier components from natural gas. Overall process power requirements are reduced, recovery of the desired heavy hydrocarbons is increased or both of these effects are realised.
