Abstract:
A heat spreader has more than one thermal circuit to give better performance over a wider range of heat input regimes. Different working fluids may be used in the different thermal circuits. The thermal circuits may extend in three dimensions to improve the density of the channels in limited space.
Abstract:
Methods of fabricating bipolar junction transistors, bipolar junction transistors, and design structures for a bipolar junction transistor. A first portion of the intrinsic base layer is masked while a second portion of an intrinsic base layer is etched. As a consequence of the masking, the second portion of the intrinsic base layer is thinner than the first portion of the intrinsic base layer. An emitter and an extrinsic base layer are formed in respective contacting relationships with the first and second portions of the intrinsic base layer.
Abstract:
An electronic device includes a housing and an electronic module. The housing includes a transparent main body, a masking layer partially adhered to the transparent main body, and a cover. A bare area is exposed forming the masking layer to define a transparent window. The housing defines a receiving chamber and an open end communicating with the receiving chamber. The electronic module includes a touch display screen. The electronic module is received in the receiving chamber, the touch display screen aligns to the transparent window, and the cover seals the open end. The present disclosure further discloses a housing for the electronic device and a method for making the housing.
Abstract:
A method of forming an electrode having an electrochemical catalyst layer is disclosed, which comprises providing a substrate with a conductive layer formed on the surface of a substrate, conditioning the surface of the substrate, immersing the substrate in a solution containing polymer-capped noble metal nanoclusters dispersed therein to form a polymer-protected electrochemical catalyst layer on the conditioned surface of the substrate, and thermally treating the polymer-protected electrochemical catalyst layer at a temperature approximately below 300° C.

Abstract:
A photography studio with a turntable driving mechanism is provided. The turntable is driven to start or brake by at least two timing pulleys contacting with the side of the turntable, and the timing pulleys were driven synchronously by another motorized timing pulley through a timing belt. Therefore, at least two indirect contact points are formed between the motorized timing pulley and the turntable to increase the contact friction to avoid sliding when the rotation of the turntable starts or brakes. In addition, a multilayer platform for shooting shadow-free images is proposed, which comprises a thicker transparent glass plate or plastic plate covered with a thinner curved translucent plastic plate and a group of lamps disposed under or behind the multilayer platform.
Abstract:
A method of preparing a carbon nanotube/polymer composite material is provided. The method includes (a) providing a carbon nanotube-based film and a pre-polymer solution; (b) placing the carbon nanotube-based film at a bottom of a container, and pouring the pre-polymer solution in the container; and (c) polymerizing the pre-polymer solution and simultaneously integrating the pre-polymer solution with the carbon nanotube-based film. As such, a carbon nanotube/polymer composite material, including the polymer-impregnated nanotube layer and an upper polymer layer, is obtained. A multi-layer composite can be produced by essentially repeating this process, using the upper polymer layer as the base layer for the formation of the next layer set thereon.
