    摘要: An apparatus for changing the compression in a cylinder of a piston engine is provided that includes an eccentric for eccentrically mounting the one end of the piston rod to the piston, an eccentric swing component secured to the eccentric, and a linkage assembly for controlling the swing movement of the eccentric swing component to effect a corresponding change in the compression in the cylinder. The linkage assembly includes a position coupling for guiding the eccentric swing component to swing through a predetermined swing movement during stroke movement of the piston. A guide assembly guides the eccentric swing component or the position coupling along a predetermined path during its respective movement during a piston stroke.

    摘要: A device for activating and deactivating a load change valve of an internal combustion engine has a camshaft with at least one valve cam and at least one coupling cam. A rocker arm is supported on a stationary engine component and has a sensing member riding on the cam and actuating the load change valve. A coupling lever is movably connected to the rocker arm and is acted on by the coupling cam such that the coupling lever is moved relative to the rocker arm. A coupling device is provided for interrupting movement transmission of the sensing member onto the load change valve. The coupling lever cooperates with the coupling device and the coupling cam such that, when the sensing member rides on a base circle of the valve cam, a movement transmission between the sensing member and the load change valve is at least approximately interrupted. A catch device for securing the coupling lever upon its deflection by the coupling cam is provided for interrupting the movement transmission between the sensing member and the load change valve. The coupling device has a positive locking engagement between the sensing member and the rocker arm, which may be released when the coupling lever is secured by the catch device such that the sensing member is moved by the valve cam relative to the rocker arm.

The eccentric bushing has a least two locking recesses. A locking member is connected to the connecting rod and moveable in different directions into one or the other of the at least two locking recesses for locking the eccentric bushing in a first and second rotational position. In a first rotational position the effective length of the connecting rod is at a maximum and in a second rotational position the effective length of the connecting rod is at a minimum.

A piston is provided that is movable in a cylinder accompanied by the formation of a variable-sized working chamber. During a compression stroke, the piston is used to press a working medium, accompanied by a reduction in the size of the working chamber, into a radiation absorber/heat exchanger that is disposed directly in the working chamber, receives radiation energy, and essentially completely accommodates the working medium when the working chamber is at a minimum. During a working stroke, the working medium, which is compressed by the reduction in size of the working chamber and which is heated up by absorbing thermal energy from the radiation absorber/heat exchanger, is used to move the piston, upon expansion of the working medium, into a position that enlarges the working chamber. At least a portion of the working medium is exchanged following the working stroke and prior to a subsequent compression stroke.

A plane which contains the axis of the balancing shaft and the path of movement of the balancing weight is inclined relative to a plane which contains the axis of the balancing shaft and the path of movement of the compensation weight. The time of minimum speed of the balancing weight coincides with the time of maximum speed of the compensation weight.

The axis of rotation of one of the camshafts is at least approximately in the extension of the longitudinal axis of the valve, and the frame-fixed fulcrum (P1) of the drag lever 5 and the fulcrum (P2) for the rocker lever (3) are disposed on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis of the valve. This makes it possible to create an especially compact, light and rigid construction of the valve gear.

    摘要: An improved adjusting device for gas changing valves for use in internal combustion engines comprising a spring system and two electrically-operated, opposed actuating solenoids which are alternately excited to move a reduced mass actuator assembly back and forth therebetween and which is held at two discreet mutually-opposite operating positions. The improved actuator assembly comprises a reduced mass anchor plate which includes integrally attached upper and lower stems, which stems are guided through a co-aligned bore through both electromagnets. The lower stem includes a flange member which engages a flanged stamp end portion of a gas exchange valve stem to move the valve to either an open or closed position in response to the attraction of the anchor plate to a pole surface of an excited electromagnet. The upper and lower surfaces of the anchor plate are tapered from the middle to its outer edges to reduce the thickness and mass of the anchor plate. The pole surfaces of each electromagnet are correspondingly sloped to provide a contoured fit with the upper and lower impact surfaces of the anchor plate. The mass reduction in the anchor plate provides for shorter switching times of the actuator assembly while maintaining physical integrity of the anchor plate over long operating lifetimes.

    摘要: A solenoid insulation system for an electromagnetic positioning mechanism for reciprocating valve actuators which are shifted between two positions by means of actuating solenoids and are maintained under load between their operating positions by a spring system. In the operational state, the locus of equilibrium of the spring system is determined by an adjusting solenoid which may be integral with or closely adjacent to the actuating solenoid(s). Pursuant to the invention, the adjusting solenoid's magnetic field is decoupled to the greatest possible degree from that of the actuating solenoids. In this manner, uncontrolled operating states of the actuating solenoid are avoided. Decoupling insulation is provided by suitable air gap(s), diamagnetic or paramagnetic material, or constructing the core of the adjusting solenoid from material different than the actuating solenoid, e.g., transformer sheet and sintered ferrite core material respectively.

    摘要: An electromagnetic positioning system in displacement machines such as internal combustion engines in which spring-loaded valve actuators are shifted between two operating positions. Upon startup, the locus of equilibrium of the spring system is shifted by means of an adjusting solenoid which moves one of the spring system supporting seat members. The support seat member for the spring system is secured to and guided by a sleeve which, upon startup, is guided along the actuator rod. When the device is in its operating position, the actuator rod is guided in the sleeve. The working surface of the adjusting solenoid core has a beveled surface which assists in centering the sleeve in its operating position. The invention is particularly applicable to lifting valves and sliding gate valves, e.g., intake and exhaust valve actuators.
