Abstract:
A proportional solenoid-controlled fluid valve assembly having a fluid pressure balancing arrangement includes a poppet and diaphragm. The valve assembly also includes a solenoid coil assembly having a cylindrical conduit and a magnetic orifice piece positioned within the conduit. A plunger is positioned within the conduit and is movable within the conduit between a de-actuated position and an actuated position. A valve poppet is provided having a top cylindrical upstanding portion and a poppet face configured to abut the valve seat. Further, a diaphragm is positioned within the valve base with the top cylindrical upstanding portion of the poppet extending through a diaphragm opening. A magnetic frame is also included for securing the valve assembly in an assembled configuration, wherein a magnetic path is formed by magnetic orifice piece, plunger and the magnetic frame and the solenoid coil is configured to be actuated such that the plunger moves towards the magnetic orifice piece, thus lifting the poppet and allowing pressurized media to pass from the inlet port to the outlet port.

Abstract:
Various embodiments of a system and methods for using design features to search for page layout designs are described. The document and image structures of a page layout design may be analyzed to determine design features which define the style of the page layout design. Dependent on the design features, style scores may be calculated for the page layout design. Page layout designs may be stored in a database in association with corresponding style scores. A user may indicate a desired page layout style by indicating example page layout designs which exhibit the desired style. Style scores for the example page layout designs may be compared to the style scores for page layout designs stored in the database. Dependent on the comparison, page layout designs stored in the database may be selected and displayed to the user.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of managing remote third party OTN & WDM transceiver equipment using the same fibers used for end user data exchange is described. A network device collects management instructions for the OTN & WDM transceiver equipment, assembles this management information into the overhead of a data frame and transmits on an optical link directly coupled to the network device. The WDM transceiver function converts the optical signal to an electrical one and the OTN function extracts the management instructions from the OTN overhead. A processor associated with the OTN framer function acts on that information. The management instructions includes the instruction to periodically and continuously, load certain performance, alarm or informational data into its OTN overhead and transmit that to a similar transceiver at the remote end of the communications link. Network-based monitoring equipment can optically tap off a portion of the signal and extract this information, allowing the network-based device to gain knowledge of conditions at the end points.
Abstract:
A global demand forecast is generated for a product group in a computer system, where the product group comprises a plurality of products of a predefined genre. A historical relationship between an aggregate of product level demand forecasts and actual demand for the products in the product group, and the global demand forecast are used to adjust a critical ratio employed to generate a product level demand forecast in the computer system for a product in the product group. The critical ratio expresses a probability that the product level demand forecast will exceed an actual demand for a corresponding product.
Abstract:
Fused silica ceramics plays demanding role in high velocity missile/aircraft'radome development. Slip casting is the most common and commercially viable process utilized for radome production. Unfortunately slip casting cannot afford high density due to its poor green packing density which in turn results in poor rain erosion resistance. Present invention discloses process for preparing high density fused silica bodies by adding boron oxide (B2O3) with the commercially available high purity fused silica as sintering aid cum de-vitrification inhibitor. Various concentrations of B2O3 were added to high purity fused silica. Thus formed compositions were made into slip-castable slurries in aqueous medium without any addition of dispersing agents. The reheological properties like mild shear thinning and low thixotropic behaviour of the slurries were established. These slurries were then slip-casted in plaster of parries mold. The green and sintered properties of the casted samples were studied. The sintered sample with density higher than 2 g/cc (90-95% of the theoretical density) was achieved without de-vitrification. XRD studies on sintered samples showed the amorphous nature of the sample. The improved properties of fused silica system can favor its utilization in radome applications.
Abstract:
To customize information using a desktop module, a page editor application is used to modify information for presentation in a container on a computer, wherein the container facilitates interaction between a plurality of applications associated with a plurality of business units. Configuration information is received to modify the presentation of information. A processor creates a modifiable configuration file according to the configuration information, wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises instructions to present the information in the container on the computer. The processor accesses the modifiable configuration file to facilitate presentation of the information according to the received configuration information.
Abstract:
A network-based system and method that provides control of routing of communication signals from wireless communication devices of roaming subscribers of mobile communication service provider via an automated and intelligent network/system. The system provides real-time routing to preferred mobile communication service provider, which are affiliated with the home mobile communication service provider. The system improves the quality of service delivered to the roaming subscriber and increases potential revenues to the home mobile communication service provider by providing control over the roaming subscriber and preference use of the preferred mobile communication service provider.
Abstract:
A micro-valve assembly for providing precise regulation of fluid flow between an input port and an output port comprises a valve body configured to installed with the valve assembly and forming therewith a fluid flow chamber between the fluid flow rate control port and the output port, the valve body having an internally threaded cylindrical portion. A rotatable valve adjustment member has an externally threaded cylindrical portion sized to engage the internally threaded cylindrical portion of the valve body. The externally threaded cylindrical portion of the rotatable valve adjustment member has an internally threaded axial bore. The internally threaded bore of the rotatable valve adjustment member has a longitudinal axis and a pitch finer than that of the externally threaded cylindrical portion thereof. A valve stem has an externally threaded shaft portion, sized to engage and being threaded into the internally threaded axial bore of the cylindrical portion of the rotatable valve adjustment member, and a poppet member disposed at one end of the externally threaded shaft. The poppet member is sized to close the fluid flow rate control port of the valve assembly when brought into engagement with the seat. The valve stem is axially translatable within the internally threaded axial bore of the cylindrical portion of the rotatable valve adjustment member by the rotation of the rotatable valve adjustment member about the longitudinal axis, thereby controlling the position of the poppet member relative to the seat of the fluid rate control port.
Abstract:
The present device discloses a grasping forceps with side channel. A grasping forceps channel connects a clamp to a handle. The clamp is shut to close off the gall bladder to prevent gall stones from traveling from the gall bladder into the cystic duct and into the bile duct. The side channel is provided that is substantially parallel to the grasping forceps channel. The side channel directs a catheter into the ampulla on the side of the clamp proximate to the bile duct. This catheter has a needle for application of a dye to the ampulla.
