Abstract:
Methods, Mobile Node and Mobility Access gateway for enabling vertical handoff of the Mobile Node between a first and second network interfaces using a pad translator.
Abstract:
A Mobile Node, A Network Node and a method performed in a visited network of a telecommunications network. The Mobile Node has a home address (HoA) valid in a Mobile Node's home network of the telecommunications network or knows how to generate one. The HoA is used in the visited network. A Pad Translator Generator module generates a Pad Translator (PaT) from at least one protection parameter by applying at least one exclusive-or (XOR) thereon and a Pad Translator Applicator module applies the PaT on at least a portion of a header of a packet using an exclusive-or (XOR) function thereby enabling protection of at least a portion of the HoA in the visited network.
Abstract:
Methods and home agent for building a plurality of individual binding updates in the home agent on behalf of a mobile node. One of the methods and the home agent is directed to receiving an Aggregated Binding Update (ABU) at the home agent from the mobile node, building the plurality of individual binding updates from the ABU and sending from the home agent each of the plurality of individual binding updates toward each of the different destination addresses. Each of the plurality of individual binding updates has a different destination address, which is specified in the ABU. Another of the methods and the home agent is directed to intercepting a plurality of binding acknowledgments destined to the mobile node, building an Aggregated Binding Acknowledgment (ABA) from the plurality of binding acknowledgments and sending the ABA toward the mobile node.
Abstract:
A system and method for virtualizing a flow switch to be used by application providers in a cloud computing environment is provided. An application provider's packet handling rules are received by a cloud management system. The rules are translated from the application provider's overlay topology to the underlay data center topology. The underlay network elements involved in the received rules can be identified. A translated rule can be decomposed into a plurality of rule portions which are transmitted to the appropriate underlay network elements.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described which delegate reachability testing for mobility signaling in communication networks. A mobile node transmits a mobility signaling package to other network nodes, which can use the information contained therein to perform the delegated reachability testing.
Abstract:
The present disclosure describes methods and apparatus for differentiating subscriber devices of a subscriber hidden by a network address translation device and enables traffic flow steering on a per device basis rather than a per subscriber basis. Identification of subscriber devices is achieved by assigning a reserved set of external ports to each subscriber device. Different service paths can be defined for different subscriber devices to provide a subscriber with a different experience for each subscriber device of the subscriber.
Abstract:
A method of enhancing Quality of Experience (QoE) associated with an application flow for an end-user in a communication network comprises: receiving a packet belonging to the application flow, the packet comprising QoE information determined based on previous packets exchanged within the application flow; decoding the QoE information from the received packet; and adjusting a QoS mechanism for the packet, based on the decoded QoE information for enhancing the QoE of the application flow. A network node for carrying out this method is disclosed. Also, a method for relaying QoE associated with an application flow for an end-user in a communication network comprises: receiving packets belonging to the application flow; calculating QoE information based on the received packets; and sending the calculated QoE information back to the communication network, the QoE information being included in a packet belonging to the application flow. A network node for carrying out this method is disclosed.
Abstract:
A method, for use in a data center having tenants, of routing an IPv4 packet over an IPv6 network as an IPv6 packet includes: receiving the IPv4 packet from a first virtual machine associated with a first tenant and addressed to a second virtual machine associated with a second tenant; generating the header of the IPv6 packet to include an IPv6 address determined by applying a reversible transformation to one of: a combination of the IPv4 source address and an identifier of the first tenant, and a combination of the IPv4 destination address and an identifier of the second tenant; generating the payload of the IPv6 packet based on the payload of the received IPv4 packet; generating the IPv6 packet by assembling the generated payload with the generated header of the IPv6 packet; and transmitting the generated IPv6 packet over the IPv6 network to the second virtual machine.
Abstract:
Methods and nodes are provided for efficiently establishing a route between a mobile node and a correspondent node in a Proxy Mobile Internet Protocol network. A return routability procedure is used between a local mobility anchor and a media access gateway on one hand, and the correspondent node on the other hand. The procedure is made without involvement from the mobile node. The procedure is such that the correspondent node handles return routability as per standard mobile IP mechanisms. Following this return routability procedure, a binding of an address of the mobile node with an address of the media access gateway is stored in the correspondent node. This binding allows data traffic to flow between the mobile node and the correspondent node without passing through the local mobility anchor.
Abstract:
A method and nodes are provided for registering a terminal. The terminal is capable of connecting in two distinct networks. The registration process for the terminal maps an identity and traffic handling policies of the terminal in a first network with an address prefix of the terminal obtained from the second network. The address prefix is obtained from the second network following authorization of the terminal in the first network. As traffic is exchanged between the terminal and a correspondent node while the terminal is accessing the second network, the mapping is used to ensure that policies for the terminal in the first network are applied in the second network.
