A refrigerator as disclosed herein may include a refrigerator body having a freezing compartment and a refrigeration compartment, a cooling circuit including a compressor, a condenser, and an evaporator to cool the freezing compartment and the refrigeration compartment using a first refrigerant, and a thermosyphon that includes a pipe for a second refrigerant to flow. The pipe may have a first section having a first prescribed shape for condensing refrigerant and a second section having a second prescribed shape for vaporizing refrigerant. A valve may be provided at the pipe to operate the thermosyphon. The cooling circuit and the thermosyphon may be operated independently. The thermosyphon may provide auxiliary cooling for the refrigeration chamber when the cooling circuit is not operational.

A washing machine according to the present invention comprises: a vibration limiter disposed on an outer cistern, wherein the vibration limiter is capable of decreasing vibration by absorbing kinetic energy of a suspension when the outer cistern is excessively vibrating. Thus, the present invention prevents collision between a cabinet and the outer cistern which can be generated when the outer cistern is excessively vibrating, thereby achieving the effect of preventing damage to the surrounding parts. Furthermore, since collision between the outer cistern and the cabinet is prevented, it is possible to minimize space between the outer cistern and the cabinet, which allows the enlargement of outer cistern capacity.

A refrigerator having an auxiliary cooling device is disclosed. The refrigerator may include a cabinet that includes a storage compartment to preserve food and a pipe for refrigerant arranged in the storage compartment to cool the storage compartment. a phase change material may provide auxiliary cooling for the storage compartment when the pipe is not operational. An enclosure for the phase change material may be provided around the pipe. The pipe may have a serpentine shape and the enclosure may be formed of a flexible material and shaped to corresponding to a shape of the pipe.

The present invention relates to a dishwasher. The dishwasher of the present invention may include a sump for holding cleaning water, a cleaning pump for pumping the cleaning water from the sump, a spray arm for spraying the cleaning water through two or more nozzles, a supply flow passage for forming a flow passage to supply the cleaning water pumped by the cleaning pump to the spray arm, and an air mixing unit for drawing external air to spray the cleaning water through the nozzles together with the air. The air mixing unit may be mounted between the nozzle which sprays the cleaning water and an inlet of the supply flow passage connected to the spray arm, or the end of the supply flow passage connected to the spray arm. Accordingly, the washability of the dishwasher can be improved without increasing the amount of water used.

The dishwasher includes a tub having a receiving space in which objects to be washed are received, a sump for storing wash water supplied into the tub, a heater that heats the wash water in the sump to generate steam, a steam nozzle for spraying the steam into the tub, a filter assembly that purifies the wash water supplied to the sump and communicates with the tub so that the steam generated in the sump is supplied into the tub and a barrier for dividing inner space of the sump into a first section communicating with the filter assembly and a second section communicating with the steam nozzle. The barrier allows the wash water flows between the first and second sections and suppresses flow of the steam from the second section to the first section.
