Abstract:
Embodiments are provided for deliver multimedia information to a transportation apparatus through a UAV network. After the transportation apparatus enters an area, one or more UAVs may be configured to capture one or more images of an interior of the transportation apparatus. Geographical location of the transportation apparatus can be obtained. Image analysis may be employed to analyze the images to obtain passenger. Based on the geographical information regarding the transportation apparatus, and passenger, specific multimedia information can be determined for presentation to the passenger(s) in the transportation apparatus. The determined multimedia information may include media contents of interest to the passenger(s) and available in the geographical location the transportation apparatus is currently traveling in. The determined multimedia information can be transmitted to transportation apparatus for presentation to the passenger.
Abstract:
Embodiments are provided for facilitating an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) network. The UAV network in accordance with the disclosure can comprise multiple UAVs, ground processing stations, and/or any other components. A particular UAV in the network can carry payloads consisting of optical image sensors, processing devices, communication systems, and/or any other components. An individual UAV in the network can comprise photovoltaic cells capable of absorbing solar energy. Embodiments are provided for converting the solar energy to electricity for providing power to payloads aboard the UAV and as well as charging a battery aboard the UAV. In certain embodiments, the UAV can fly up to 65,000 feet and can cover as much as 500 km in range. One motivation of the present disclosure is to “outsource” some or entire information processing by an UAV to existing infrastructure, such as the ground processing station.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for preventing unauthorized copying that comprises a casing, an optical storage device, a control center installed in the casing and coupled to the optical storage device, and an input/output port installed in the casing and exposed from the casing and coupled to an electronic device, such that if a user places a medium into the optical storage device, the control center will determine whether or not the medium is a read-once medium; if yes, then the content of the medium will be copied to the control center. In the meantime, the electronic device is examined to check whether or not the electronic device is a copy permit user; if yes, then the control center will copy the content of the medium to the electronic device. The present invention also provides a method for preventing unauthorized copying.

Abstract:
Embodiments provide a system to detect abnormal breathing by a person, such as a baby, through a piece of clothing worn by the person. The piece of clothing may be adapted to include a sound sensor that can collect breathing sounds by the person. The piece of clothing may also be adapted to include an inflatable neck support that can be automatically inflated without the person's intervention. The breathing sound signals by the person can be processed for determining whether the person breathing abnormally. When it is determined that the person is breathing abnormally, an instruction to inflate the inflatable neck support of the clothing may be generated. Such an instruction can be transmitted to the clothing wirelessly to effectuate the inflation of the inflatable neck support so the person's incorrect breathing posture that causes the abnormal breathing can be addressed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a read-once record medium that comprises a data substrate, a sensitive layer; a reflective layer, an adhesive layer and a transparent substrate; thereby, the structure of the sensitive layer or the data substrate will be changed when laser beams with specific power emitted from an optical storage device pass through the data substrate and focus on the sensitive layer, and the laser beams will be reflected by the sensitive layer and can not be recognized by the optical storage device.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system with read protecting function that comprises a record medium, having a data substrate with a control data zone and a data zone thereon, wherein the control data zone has a plurality of blocks, and every block has a plurality of sectors, and every sector has a plurality of bytes, and the data zone has encoded data, as well as a control code is disposed in the one of the sectors in control data zone; an optical storage device, for loading the record medium and reading and identifying the control code, then decoding the control code and outputs the decoded data if the control code is identifiable; or directly output the encoded data if the control code is not identifiable. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for protecting a record medium.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system and method for generating revenue to a game provider from users using a gaming system. Games are provided to users by the game provider and played over the Internet or a mobile network. The system and method includes providing Internet or wireless services to the users having a computer or mobile device for playing a game. User activity is recorded by the system including the start time and end time of the game. A total game time is calculated and used as a basis for sharing revenue generated from the user's network use between the game provider and an Internet service provider or wireless network provider.
Abstract:
Embodiments facilitate wireless charging of the EV by using a charging method that employs higher voltages with higher power transmission rate than induction wireless charging. A few charging methods satisfying such criteria are provided: including microwave and laser charging. Components may be designed to facilitate charging of EVs using such methods. For example, components may be designed to create a vacuum between a power transmitter fixed to parking spot and a power receiver fixed to the EV. The microwave or laser may be transmitted through this vacuum.
Abstract:
Embodiments facilitate handling of charging parking interactions between electric vehicles (EVs) and parking structures having charging parking spaces. For example, a parking deck has a large number of parking spaces on multiple levels, and is accessible by one or more entrances. Some of the parking spaces in the parking deck are charging parking spaces that each include a EV charging subsystem in communication with a charging parking controller. Upon entering the parking deck, an EV can request charging parking (charging while parking) during a charging parking timeframe. The charging parking controller can compute an interaction schedule of EV parking and/or charging resources of the parking structure according to the charging parking timeframe and can facilitate automatic or manual execution of the scheduled interaction between the requesting EV and the parking structure.
