    摘要: A method, medium, and system encoding/decoding video data using a binary arithmetic coding adaptive to a compression bit rate of the video data. The system may include a bitrate adaptation unit determining a maximum length of a prefix using a compression bitrate of the video data, a binarization unit dividing the video data into a prefix and a suffix according to the determined maximum length of the prefix and binarizing the video data, and an arithmetic encoding unit performing an arithmetic encoding on the binarized video data. The video data may be encoded/decoded using binary arithmetic encoding/decoding by determining the maximum length of the prefix, an order of an exponential Golomb code, and the number of contexts based on the compression bitrate. Accordingly, it is possible to obtain high encoding efficiency regardless of a range of the desired compression bitrate.

    摘要: A color image encoding and/or decoding system, medium, and method using inter-color-component prediction in a frequency domain. To encode an original image, including at least two or more image components, frequency domain transform may be performed with of each component of a color image, color component transform of the frequency domain transform coefficients, in frequency domain, may be performed based on the relationship between transform coefficients of the color image components in order to remove redundant information between color components, performing, and entropy encoding the removed redundant information data. According to the method, medium, and system, a color image or video data can be directly compressed effectively without a conventional color transform process. Furthermore, by using the relationship between image components, redundant information between color components varying with respect to the encoding mode may be removed so that the encoding efficiency can be enhanced.

    摘要: A color image and video encoding and/or decoding apparatus, method, and medium using inter-color-component prediction in accordance with an encoding mode are provided. The encoding apparatus for encoding an original image including at least two color image components, includes: a residue generation unit, if the encoding mode is inter mode, generating a temporal residue by obtaining the difference of a current image and a prediction image obtained by estimating a motion in units of blocks between the current image and a previous image of each color component; a residue color prediction unit encoding the temporal residue of the residue generation unit, by performing residue inter-color-component prediction; an intra color prediction unit, if the encoding mode is intra mode, encoding the original image by performing inter-color-component prediction of the original image; and an entropy encoding unit generating a bitstream by entropy encoding the result value of the residue color prediction unit or the intra color prediction unit. According to the apparatus, method, and medium, a color image or video data can be directly compressed effectively without a conventional color transform process. Furthermore, by using the correlation of image components, redundant information between color components varying with respect to the encoding mode is removed so that the encoding efficiency can be enhanced.

The method of encoding image data includes spatially predicting pixel values of a one-dimensional block of an image using blocks spatially adjacent to the one-dimensional block or temporally predicting the pixel values of the one-dimensional block using a temporally previous frame; transforming and quantizing the pixel values of the one-dimensional block; and generating bit streams for a one-dimensional conversion block when the transformed and quantized one-dimensional block is defined as the one-dimensional conversion block. Therefore, since the method and apparatus encode and decode image data in one-dimensional block units, real-time encoding and decoding can be achieved. In addition, compression efficiency can be enhanced while minimizing visual degradation of image quality.
