    Abstract: An electrode for a fuel cell, including a porous catalytic carrier including conductive fibers having two particle diameter distribution peaks of a first particle diameter distribution peak existing at a small particle diameter side and a second particle diameter distribution peak existing at a large particle diameter side, wherein said conducting fibers are carbon nano-fibers formed from a catalyst for formation prepared by preparing a mixed powder including one or more of a reducible metallic oxide powder and a non-reducible metallic oxide powder, mixing and pulverizing the mixed powder, and heating the mixed powder under reducing atmosphere; catalyst to be carried on said conductive fibers belonging to the first particle diameter distribution peak; and a proton conductive material adhered on surface of at least the conducive fibers belonging to the first particle diameter distribution peak, so as to come into contact with the catalyst.

    Abstract: A safety device having a thin plate of a brittle material adapted to be ruptured by a difference between pressures exerted on opposite sides thereof; and a conductive path provided on the thin plate and adapted to be cut off by the rupture of the thin plate. One surface of the thin plate is present in a reference pressure chamber. The safety device with its reference pressure chamber being sealed is incorporated in a secondary battery. When the secondary battery is overcharged, the pressure difference between the opposite sides of the thin plate is increased, so that the thin plate is ruptured to cut off the conductive path.

    Abstract: A high frequency heating power device for an implanted device comprises a switch circuit, an input/output circuit, a high-frequency signal generating circuit, and a check circuit. When a high frequency output circuit applies a high frequency measuring voltage between a guide wire and the body ground board, a voltage is detected which corresponds to the impedance of a circuit which is made up of lead wires, the guide wire, the patient's body, and the body grounding board. It is determined by a discriminating circuit whether or not the voltage thus detected is in a predetermined allowable voltage range. The operator is informed of the discrimination by means of a display circuit and a buzzer circuit, so that he can determine the position of the end of the guide wire with respect to the end of the catheter with ease.

    Abstract: A manual combinatorial weighing apparatus having one or more weighing devices housed in a casing with each weighing device having a scale plate for placing articles thereon, and indicators associated with the weighing devices for indicating selected weighing devices. As many weighing devices in casings as desired by the user are provided in a desired layout. Weight data items of the articles put on the scale plates are combined to find a weight combination giving a desired total weight. The selected weighing devices are indicated by the indicators, which are held energized until the articles are removed from the selected weighing devices.
