Abstract: Methods for preparing a metallocene-based catalyst composition that can impact the long chain branching of ethylene homopolymers and copolymers produced using the catalyst composition are described. The catalyst composition can be prepared by contacting a metallocene compound, a hydrocarbon solvent, and a first organoaluminum compound for a first period of time to form a metallocene solution, and then contacting the metallocene solution with an activator-support and a second organoaluminum compound for a second period of time to form the catalyst composition.

Abstract: A continuous solution polymerization process is disclosed wherein at least two catalyst formulations are employed. A first homogeneous catalyst formulation is employed in a first reactor to produce a first ethylene interpolymer and a first heterogeneous catalyst formulation is employed in a second reactor to produce a second ethylene interpolymer. Optionally a third ethylene interpolymer is formed in a third reactor. The resulting ethylene interpolymer products possess desirable properties in a variety of end use applications, for example in film applications. A means for increasing the molecular weight of the first ethylene interpolymer is disclosed and/or a means for increasing the temperature of the first reactor, relative to a third homogeneous catalyst formulation. A means for reducing the (α-olefin/ethylene) weight ratio in the first reactor is disclosed and/or reducing the density of the first ethylene interpolymer, relative to a third homogeneous catalyst formulation.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to multilayer films having improved caulkability. These multilayer films have at least one layer containing an ethylene interpolymer product, or a blend containing an ethylene interpolymer product, where the ethylene interpolymer product has: a Dilution Index (Yd) greater than 0; total catalytic metal ≥3.0 ppm; ≥0.03 terminal vinyl unsaturations per 100 carbon atoms, and; optionally a Dimensionless Modulus (Xd) greater than 0. The ethylene interpolymer products have a melt index from about 0.4 to about 100 dg/minute, a density from about 0.950 to about 0.970 g/cm3, a polydispersity (Mw/Mn) from about 2 to about 25 and a CDBI50 from about 55% to about 97%. Further, the ethylene interpolymer products are a blend of at least two ethylene interpolymers; where one ethylene interpolymer is produced with a single-site catalyst formulation and at least one ethylene interpolymer is produced with a heterogeneous catalyst formulation.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a continuous solution polymerization process where ethylene interpolymer products having an improved color index; for example, products having higher whiteness (Whiteness Index (WI)) and lower yellowness (Yellowness Index (YI)). Product color was improved by adjusting selected solution polymerization reaction conditions. The disclosed ethylene interpolymer products have improved color relative to comparative polyethylene compositions.

Abstract: The invention relates to polymer composition comprising a polyolefin (a) and an inorganic filler (b) wherein the polyolefin (a) is obtainable by a high pressure process which process comprises the steps: (i) compressing one or more monomer(s) under pressure in a compressor, using a compressor lubricant for lubrication, (ii) polymerising a monomer optionally together with one or more comonomer(s) in a polymerisation zone, (iii) separating the obtained polyolefin (a) from the unreacted products and recovering the separated polyolefin (a) in a recovery zone, wherein in step (i) the compressor lubricant comprises a non-mineral oil, power cable, for example a direct current (DC) power cable, use of a polymer composition and a process for producing a DC power cable.
