A propylenic polymer according to the present invention or a composition thereof have an excellent melt flowability and contains a less amount of stickiness-causing components, and also has a low modulus and is pliable, and is capable of providing a transparent molded article, thus being useful as a substitute for a pliable vinyl chloride resin. In addition, a molded article made therefrom exhibits an excellent heat seal performance at a low temperature, and is excellent in terms of transparency and rigidity. Specifically, it has an isotactic pentad fraction (mmmm), which indicates a stereoregulariry, of 30 to 80%, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 3.5 or less and an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 0.8 to 5 dl/g.

The present invention relates to a soft polypropylene resin having a melt index falling in a specific range, prepared by melting and kneading a substantial propylene homopolymer or a propylene copolymer composition each having specific properties in the presence of a radical-generating agent.According to the present invention, capable of being provided at a good productivity is a soft polypropylene resin which is useful as an alternative for a polyvinyl chloride resin in the fields of films, sheets, construction materials and the like and which is excellent in fluidity.

The present invention provides a polyolefin resin for hot melt adhesives containing [I] a propylene polymer in an amount of 20 to 99 mass %, and [II] an adhesive capacity applying resin in an amount of 80 to 1 mass %, wherein [I] the propylene polymer satisfies the requirements of (1) a meso pentad fraction (mmmm) is from 0.2 to 0.6; and (2) a racemic pentad fraction (rrrr) and (1−mmmm) satisfy the relation: [rrrr/(1−mmmm)]≦0.1. The polyolefin resin for hot melt adhesives is superior in thermostability or flowing ability at high-temperature, easy for coating, environmentally friendly with little fear of generating toxic gas in the disposal and incineration, superior in adhesive property to lowly polar substances and in heat resistance of the adhesion face.

Long-chain, branched, propylene-based polymers, of which the melt index and the molecular weight distribution and the melt tension and the limiting viscosity both satisfy specific requirements, have good physical properties that are comparable to or better than those of conventional propylene-based polymers. They have good melt workability and are favorable to large-size blow molding and extrusion foaming. They are favorably used as miscibility improvers for propylene homopolymers and propylene-based copolymers.

The invention relates to a propylene-based copolymer and its moldings which are transparent and have good ordinary impact resistance, good cold impact resistance, and well-balanced flexibility and blocking resistance.
