Abstract:
An exhaust outlet 34 is formed at the center of a rear end wall 46 of a tail cap 21 closing a rear end opening of a muffler body 20, and a tail pipe 30 is connected at its rear end to the exhaust outlet 34. The exhaust outlet 34 is formed through a tail pipe supporting member 35 mounted on the rear end wall 46. The tail pipe supporting member 35 is formed with an annular mud guiding groove 37 opening rearward around the exhaust outlet 34. The mud accumulated on the rear end wall 46 is guided into the mud guiding groove 37 and moved in the mud guiding groove 37 owing to its capillarity. Accordingly, the mud can be moved down along the mud guiding groove 37 and smoothly dropped to the ground, thus preventing the clogging of the exhaust outlet 34 with the mud on the rear end wall 46.
Abstract:
A vehicular muffler is configured and arranged to smoothly introduce exhaust gas into a sound-absorbing material disposed inside of an outer case which has a plurality of relatively short inner sleeves therein. The muffler includes a porous plate which is disposed inside of the outer case, and which is connected to an exhaust pipe, and the porous plate is operatively connected to an outlet pipe which discharges an exhaust gas to the outside environment through an opening formed in an outlet side of the outer case. In one embodiment, the inner sleeves are arranged substantially parallel to each other, and are fluidly connected to a joint exhaust feed pipe disposed inside the outer case. The inner sleeves are connected to the outlet pipe on the outlet side of the outer case.

In a variable attenuator attenuating a signal inputted to an input terminal from a plurality of transmission lines connected in series between the input terminal and an output terminal and outputting the signal from the output terminal, first and second resistance elements to improve an input/output characteristic are connected in parallel respectively to the transmission line connected to the input terminal and the transmission line connected to the output terminal, so that reflection in input/output is sustained by the first and second resistance elements, to obtain a good input/output characteristic, and so that an impedance in a signal line is increased at a time of maximum attenuation without being suppressed by the first and second resistance elements, to obtain a large attenuation amount.

To achieve a silent, noiseless operation supercooling degree-controlled expansion valve 10 wherein vibration of a valve element 14 induced by refrigerant flow changes is suppressed and a spring 18 presses valve element 14 in an oblique direction inclined with respect to an axial direction thereof against a surrounding member 12 to thereby restrict vibration of the valve element.
Abstract:
A blood flow disorder detection device includes: a sensor sheet including a flexible substrate and a plurality of sensors provided on the flexible substrate; and an analyzer that analyzes outputs of the plurality of sensors. The plurality of sensors measure different types of blood flow information of a living tissue, the blood flow information being obtained by attaching the sensor sheet to the living tissue. The analyzer detects a blood flow disorder in the living tissue by analyzing the different types of blood flow information from the plurality of sensors.
Abstract:
An exterior cover (shroud) for a saddle-type vehicle is formed by integrally uniting a plurality of resin members including a front cover section and a rear cover section. The shroud is insert molded to form an overlapping part where the front cover section and the rear cover section overlap with each other. The front cover section has an external-appearance-surface side at the overlapping part. The rear cover section has a non-external-appearance-surface side, which overlaps with the front cover section at the overlapping part. The rear cover section has a rib extending on the non-external-appearance-surface side. Such exterior cover prevents a sink mark from being generated in the external appearance surface of the front cover section, and improves the external appearance of vehicle.
Abstract:
An exterior member such as a shroud, for a saddle-type vehicle including a head pipe and a main frame extending rearward from the head pipe, has a hook member formed on an inner side thereof. The hook member is configured for being engaged onto the main frame such that the exterior member is supported by the main frame. The exterior member is locked to the vehicle by engaging the hook member onto the main frame, thereby supporting the exterior member on the main frame. Such arrangement enables the exterior member to be affixed to the frame with a simple structure, without detrimentally affecting the external appearance of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A muffler of a motorcycle having an outside diameter greater than the outside diameter d1 of a rectilinear portion of a branch pipe is disposed at a transverse portion of an exhaust pipe. Since the muffler is formed to be roughly elliptic in sectional shape, the outside diameter of the muffler is represented by a major diameter da as the length in the direction of a major axis and a major diameter db as the length in the direction of a minor axis. When the muffler is disposed between a swing arm and a seat to be along the transverse portion of the exhaust pipe, the muffler can be disposed on the more vehicle front side while securing the capacity thereof. Therefore, protrusion of the muffler toward the rear of the vehicle is suppressed, and the external appearance of a vehicle rear portion is enhanced.
