Abstract: A dental light polymerization device has an intra-oral tip portion and a handle portion. The dental light polymerization device has a polymerization light source and a light mixing element. The polymerization light source has a first LED exhibiting a first light emission peak wavelength and a second LED exhibiting a second light emission peak wavelength. The first and second LED each are configured for emitting visible light within a wavelength range of 380 nm to 495 nm. The first and second light emission peak wavelength differ from each other by at least 10 nm. The light mixing element is formed of a solid transparent body that has a rear portion and an adjacent front portion. The rear portion has the shape of a square-based truncated pyramid. Further, the front portion has a convex shape. The rear portion forms a rear end of the light mixing element and the front portion forms a front end of the light mixing element. The rear end forms a first diagonal dimension and the rear portion, adjacent the front portion, forms a greater second diagonal dimension. The light mixing element is arranged with the rear end facing the polymerization light source and with the front end facing away from the polymerization light source.

Abstract: A dental treatment system has a light irradiation device (2) and an image display (3). The light irradiation device has a polymerization light source (5a) for emitting blue light and a camera (6) for capturing a series of images. The system is set up for generating a first marker (11) and a second marker (20) superimposed with the images and to display the first marker (11) in a fixed positional relationship to an image pattern recognized in a first and in a second image of the series of images and to display the second marker (20) in a fixed positional relationship to an image area underlying the images.

Abstract: A dental material dispensing device has a plunger means which for dispensing the dental material is movable for urging at least one component of a dental material toward a dispensing area. The device further has cure control means with an energy source and a flow path on which the dental composition and/or the dental material flows past the energy source during dispensation. The device is operable for exposing the dental composition and/or the dental material to a specific energy by control of the energy source and/or by control of the speed of the flow of the dental composition and/or the dental material on the flow path. The device is configured for dispensing a coherent strand of dental material in a dispensing cycle. The device is further configured for operating in a first dispensing mode and additionally in a second dispensing mode during the same dispensing cycle. The ratio between the specific energy in the second dispensing mode and the specific energy in the first dispensing mode is smaller than 1.

Abstract: A light irradiation device that emits a light patch of uniform intensity. The device may be a dental light wand. The device has a light source, a lenslet array and an optional relay lens. The light source may be a laser or a collimated LED. Each lenslet of the lenslet array has two convex surfaces, a front convex surface, and a rear convex surface that is opposite to the front convex surface. The front convex surface has a focal point on the principal plane of the rear convex surface. The focal length of the front convex surface differs from the focal length of the rear convex surface. Light beams emitted by the light source pass through the lenslet array, and if a relay lens is present then pass through the relay lens, forming a light patch of uniform intensity.
