    Abstract: The apparatus (1000) includes a housing (110), a chamber (120) disposed in the housing, at least two light emitting diodes (LEDs) (130) disposed within the housing (110), and a user interface (140) disposed on an exterior (112) of the housing. The chamber (120) is adaptable to each of an open, closed, and hermetically sealed configuration. The chamber (120) includes a material transparent to actinic radiation and light from the LEDs (130) enters the chamber from more than one direction.     Abstract: A dental light irradiation device is adapted to emit blue light. The device has a light source, means for collimating light emitted from the light source, and a light guide. The light collimating means comprising:—a plano-convex lens oriented with the planar side toward the light source, and—a reflector formed by a hollow ring-shaped structure having an inner conical and reflective surface. The reflector is arranged such that its inner cross-section widens toward the lens and extends over the entire distance between the planar side of the lens and the light source. The light source being positioned substantially at the effective focal length of the lens, and the light guide having an input side for receiving light emitted from the light source and an output side for the light.

    Abstract: Dental curing light systems capable of monitoring the degree of curing of polymerizable dental material. A monitoring light source delivers visible monitoring light at one or more different visible wavelengths and a visible light detector detects the monitoring light diffusely reflected by the polymerizable dental material. The monitoring light has a wavelength of maximum emission (λmax-mon) that does not effectively induce polymerization of the polymerizable dental material. Change in intensity of the monitoring light reflected from the polymerizable dental material is used to determine when a selected degree of curing is reached in the polymerizable dental material.

    Abstract: A light irradiation device that emits a light patch of uniform intensity. The device may be a dental light wand. The device has a light source, a lenslet array and an optional relay lens. The light source may be a laser or a collimated LED. Each lenslet of the lenslet array has two convex surfaces, a front convex surface, and a rear convex surface that is opposite to the front convex surface. The front convex surface has a focal point on the principal plane of the rear convex surface. The focal length of the front convex surface differs from the focal length of the rear convex surface. Light beams emitted by the light source pass through the lenslet array, and if a relay lens is present then pass through the relay lens, forming a light patch of uniform intensity.
