Abstract: Methods and apparatus provide for a wireless network to enable multiple-transmission reception point (multi-TRP) uplink (UL) time division multiplexed (TDMed) repetition transmission. The network may receive, from a user equipment (UE), beam measurements of downlink reference signals associated with a plurality of UL transmission beams from the UE to the multi-TRP. Based on criteria associated with the beam measurements received from the UE, the network enables the UE for the multi-TRP UL TDMed repetition transmission using the plurality of UL transmission beams. In addition, or in other scenarios, coordination is provided between the network and the UE to improve UL TDMed repetition transmissions when a UE switches between antenna panels.

A user equipment device (UE) may receive, via a first reception path, an RRM related signal and receive, via a second reception path, a non-RRM related signal that may be multiplexed with the RRM related signal onto a symbol. The first reception path may be a first antenna port of an antenna panel or a first antenna panel of the UE and the second reception path may be a second antenna port of the antenna panel or a second antenna panel of the UE. The RRM related signal may include a reference signal for RRM. and may be included in a non-zero power (NZP) interference measurement.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for providing downlink control for multi-TRP transmission. A cellular base station may provide a downlink control information transmission to a wireless device scheduling downlink transmissions to the wireless device from multiple transmission reception points. The downlink control information may include information that can be used by the wireless device to determine any or all of physical resource block bundling sizes, frequency domain resource allocations, modulation and coding schemes, redundancy versions, phase tracking reference signal configurations, and any of various other possible types of configuration information for the downlink transmissions. The wireless device may receive the downlink transmissions from the plurality of transmission reception points in accordance with the downlink control information.

A first wireless device may receive a ranging packet from a second wireless device in a wireless manner. Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for performing fast beam tracking in a wireless communication environment. A UE signals to a gNB its capabilities for intra-symbol beam sweeping. Depending on configuration, the UE can either assume that the intra-symbol beam sweeping configuration will be implemented, or will await a response from the gNB before implementing intra-symbol beam sweeping. Although this is generally carried out during initial access between the UE and the gNB, the beam sweeping configuration can be dynamically updated by either the UE or the gNB during established communication. For example, the UE can signal a desired change via its MAC CE, and the gNB can signal its change to the UE via DCI.

Abstract: To reduce the beam reporting latency, a base station may include a sounding reference signal (SRS) indication to a wireless communication device (UE) as part of the transmission configuration information (TCI) transmitted to the UE, allowing the UE to receive a corresponding downlink signal using the same beam (or with the same beam) the UE used to transmit (or with which the UE transmitted) the SRS indicated in the TCI. The SRS may be one of multiple SRSs previously transmitted by the UE. The UE may transmit the multiple SRSs periodically and/or according to semi-persistent scheduling, or it may transmit them aperiodically. Therefore, the UE does not need to report the beam quality, and the base station may perform the necessary beam measurement(s) instead. Various parameters and conditions may be defined for the UE to support SRS-based TCI.

The wireless device may provide an indication of analog beam steering capability of the wireless device to the cellular base station. For example, the wireless device may support a limited number of analog beams for each of one or more band groups. The cellular base station may select beam configuration information for the wireless device based at least in part on the indication of analog beam steering capability of the wireless device. This may include selecting a common beam for multiple component carriers for the wireless device based on the wireless device’s analog beam steering capability. The cellular base station may provide the beam configuration information to the wireless device.
