    Abstract: Described herein are apparatuses, systems and methods for enhancing short message service (“SMS”) over Internet protocol (“IP”). The methods including at, a user equipment (“UE”) connected to a network, receiving an indication from the network, wherein the indication identifies whether the network supports an SMS over IP session, when the indication identifies that the network supports the SMS over IP session, registering the UE for voice communication and the SMS over IP session with the network, and when the indication identifies that the network does not support the SMS over IP session, registering the UE for voice communication without the SMS over IP session with the network.

    Abstract: A method for returning to a first network from a second network after premature termination of a CSFB voice call is provided. The method can include a wireless communication device storing cell information for the first network while connected to the first network; participating in a CSFB procedure to transition to the second network in response to initiation of a voice call; and determining that the voice call has prematurely terminated. In response to premature termination of the voice call, the method can further include performing a scan for a first network cell based on stored cell information for up to a maximum scan time period; reselecting to a first network cell in an instance in which a first network cell is identified by the scan; and camping on the second network in an instance in which a first network cell is not identified by the scan.

The preferred PLMN list may be distributed to wireless devices sharing those common characteristics, which may then use it in conjunction with roaming PLMN selection.

    Abstract: An electronic device receives an indication of a number of physical resource blocks and subcarrier spacing of at least a portion of a transmission channel and determines a dynamic transmission bandwidth, or receives an indication of a modulation coding scheme of the transmission channel and determines a modulation order. The electronic device transmits, using a transmitter, a signal over at least the portion of the transmission channel based on the dynamic transmission bandwidth being less than or equal to a threshold bandwidth, or the modulation order not corresponding to an additional power backoff, using a first power based on a maximum output power capacity of the electronic device and a maximum power reduction. Otherwise, the electronic device transmits the signal over at least the portion of the transmission channel at a second power based on the maximum output power capacity, the maximum power reduction and the additional power backoff.
