Abstract: An electronic device displays a user interface and detects an occurrence of a first condition that triggers a first user interface event, including display of one or more changes to the user interface, associated with a tactile output. The device is not able to generate the tactile output associated with the first user interface event for a respective amount of time. In response to detecting the occurrence of the first condition, in accordance with a determination that the first user interface event corresponds to a first user interface event category, the device delays generation of the first user interface event for at least the respective amount of time, and, thereafter, displays the one or more changes to the user interface in synchronization with generation of the tactile output associated with the first user interface event.

Abstract: An electronic device, while tactile output generators are in a low-power state, receives an indication that a user interaction has started. The device, if the indication meets tactile output generator preparation criteria, sets the tactile output generators to a low-latency state at a first time. Thereafter, the device, if the user interaction has reached a respective portion of the user interaction that is associated with a tactile output before a predefined amount of time since the first time has elapsed and the tactile output generators are still in the low-latency state, generates the tactile output using the tactile output generators with a reduced latency. If a tactile output has not been generated for at least the predefined amount of time since the first time, the device transitions the tactile output generators from the low-latency state to the low-power state.

Abstract: A method of determining a location of an event stored on a calendar application of a device is provided. The method sends a location string associated with the event from the calendar application to a geo coder. The method receives a handle that includes a set of data items that uniquely identifies the location of the event. The data items in the handle are not accessed or individually utilized by the calendar application. Prior to the start of the event, the method requests travel updates to the location of event from a navigation application. The request includes the handle and the start time of the event. The method receives periodic routing updates to the location of the event from the navigation application.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are provided for creating and providing reminders that involve an activity states of an application on a device. An activity state can correspond to a particular view within an application, e.g., a view that was reached after several inputs from a user. A user can provide a specification of an activity state in a variety of ways, e.g., providing a reminder command while the application is executing in the foreground with the desired activity state or by voice commands that specify the activity state. A user can provide one or more trigger criteria. Once the reminder is triggered, the specified activity state can be provided to the user.

Abstract: An electronic device receives, at an application-independent module, user interface information from an application. The user interface information corresponds to one or more displayed user interface elements with one or more dimensions defined by an application-specific module of the application. The electronic device receives an input directed toward one or more of the displayed user interface elements, and, at the application-independent module, determines one or more tactile outputs to be generated based on a magnitude of the input and the one or more dimensions defined by the applications-specific module. Using the one or more tactile output generators, the electronic device generates the determined one or more tactile outputs.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a reminder to a mobile device are provided. After receiving a request to establish a reminder from a user, a plurality of reminder options are provided. Each reminder option corresponds to a different category of reminders, and a first reminder option of the reminder options corresponds to a connection state of the mobile device with a processor of a vehicle. A selection of the first reminder option for the reminder is received. An indication of a transition that is to trigger the reminder is also received. The transition corresponds to the mobile device establishing a wireless connection to a processor of the vehicle or the mobile device disconnecting from the vehicle processor. Content for the reminder is received. In response to detecting the transition between the mobile device and the processor of the vehicle, the content of the reminder is provided to the user.
