    摘要： A surface covering system is described which involves a series of interconnected tiles having a spline system located between the tiles to simulate the appearance of grout. Each tile has on its sides, at least one tongue section and at least two groove sections wherein the tongue section of one tile interconnects with the groove section of a second tile and further forms a gap at least at the upper surface between the two tiles. A first spline, having two tongue sections for interconnecting with the groove section(s) of at least one tile, is inserted between a series of tiles. A second spline capable of fitting into the gap formed between two or more tiles, which are interconnected at a tongue of a first tile and a groove of a second tile is further used. Methods of installing the surface covering system of the invention are further described.

    摘要： The present invention is directed to a barrier layer which has the ability to substantially prevent the diffusion of stains, such as plasticizers and dyes or other chemicals, onto a surface of a surface covering, from a surface or object in which the surface covering is placed upon. The barrier layer contains a polyamide or polyurethane and is preferably located above a substrate or base layer in a surface covering. The barrier layer preferably is located between a UV topcoat layer and a vinyl wear layer. The present invention also relates to a method of preventing stain migration onto a surface covering from a surface on which the surface covering is placed by use of the barrier layer of the present invention and also relates to methods of making surface coverings containing the barrier layer of the present invention.

    摘要： Methods and systems for decorating at least one bevel surface or other surface of a laminated flooring are described. The bevel surface can be decorated by non-transfer printing such as digital printing. The digital printer can be an ink jet printer such as a piezoelectric drop-on-demand (DOD) printer that allows a color and pattern to be placed on the bevel surface that matches the print design (décor pattern or face design) of the laminated flooring. Other devices are provided such as a device that takes a picture of or scans an image of the print design, and modifies the taken picture or the scanned image so that the edge pattern thereof matches with an edge pattern of the print design.
