Abstract: A metal object detection device includes a plurality of detection coils, a capacitor configuring a resonant circuit in cooperation with each of at least two of the detection coils, a first series connection body, a second series connection body, a voltage applying unit, and a processing unit. The voltage applying unit applies an AC voltage to both ends of each of the first series connection body and the second series connection body. Abstract: A power supply apparatus includes a power reception coil mounted to a moving object, a plurality of relay coils, and a power reception circuit connected with the power reception coil. The relay coils are configured to successively relay supply of electric power from a power transmission coil, which is arranged along a surface on which the moving object moves, to the power reception coil during movement of the moving object. Each of the relay coils includes a first coil and a second coil, which are configured to be magnetic-field-coupled respectively to the power transmission coil and the power reception coil, and a connection circuit that connects the first and second coils. The connection circuit includes at least one resonance capacitor involved in setting of a resonance frequency of at least one of the first and second coils. The at least one resonance capacitor has a parallel characteristic.

Abstract: In a wireless power transfer apparatus, a characteristic adjuster has a frequency characteristic that causes, in a power transfer mode from at least one power transmission unit to a power receiving apparatus, a resonant power transmission circuit to have a resonance frequency that substantially matches an operating frequency. The reactance of a power transmission coil has a reference value in the power transfer mode. Abstract: In a dynamic wireless power transfer system, a power transmission coil is provided in a road. A power transmission circuit supplies electric power to the power transmission coil. A power reception coil is provided in a vehicle. A power reception circuit is connected to the power reception coil. A relay circuit is provided in a tire of the vehicle. The relay circuit includes at least two relay coils that are connected in series. The relay circuit transfers electric power from the power transmission coil to the power reception coil by one relay coil of the two relay coils opposing the power transmission coil and the other relay coil opposing the power reception coil. A resonance frequency of the relay circuit is a frequency that is within a fixed range that is centered on an applied frequency of an alternating-current voltage that is applied to the power transmission coil.

Abstract: In a power converter, a first electrical path connects between the series resonant circuit and a selected terminal from the high- and low-side input and output terminals of the power converter. An auxiliary diode is provided on one of the series resonant circuit and the first electrical path. An auxiliary switch, when turned on, causes an inductor current to flow through the auxiliary diode to the resonance inductor, thus storing electromagnetic energy into the resonance inductor, and causes the resonance inductor and the capacitance component of the series resonant circuit to resonate with each other. A second electrical path bypasses the auxiliary switch for flow of the inductor current. A discharge unit is provided on the second electrical path. The discharge unit is activated to discharge the electromagnetic energy stored in the resonance inductor via the second electrical path.
