The spiral coil includes a conducting wire forming one or more coil turns, and a height of one side of the conducting wire in a direction of a central portion of the spiral coil and a height of another side of the conducting wire in an opposite direction to the central portion of the spiral coil in each of the coil turns are different from each other and the conducting wire includes at least one slot formed by an empty space between the one side and the other side, and an upper surface positioned above the one side and the other side and connecting the one side and the other side.

A wireless power transmission system and method are disclosed. The wireless power transmission system includes a plurality of wireless power transmitters configured to provide power to a plurality of wireless power receivers, and a controller configured to control the wireless power transmitters based on information of the wireless power receivers. The controller is configured to receive information of a wireless power receiver from the wireless power receiver, calculate a transmission parameter associated with a transmission efficiency of power to be provided to the wireless power receiver using the information of the wireless power receiver, and provide power to the wireless power receiver through the wireless power transmitters based on the transmission parameter.

A receiver of a wireless power transmission system may include a capacitor-and-inductor configured to receive power from a transmitter using a resonance, at least one capacitor configured to connect to an output node of the receiver, and a plurality of switches configured to control current flow within the receiver. The plurality of switches may be controlled so that the capacitor-and-inductor may be disconnected from the at least one capacitor and the output node at preset periods. Current resonating in the capacitor-and-inductor may increase during disconnection between the at least one capacitor and the output node. The plurality of switches may output the increased current to the battery by connecting the capacitor-and-inductor to the capacitor and the output node after the period, connect at least one capacitor and the output node in series after the period, and operate to reduce root mean square (RMS) current within the receiver.

Provided is a battery charging method using wireless power transmission, the method including: receiving a first message associated with a battery charge start from a reception apparatus; discovering an optimal frequency band for a transmit power signal to be transmitted to the reception apparatus based on the first message; receiving, from the reception apparatus, a second message that includes an extra power value and a charge power value, and is associated with a charge state of the reception apparatus; and adaptively controlling transmit power so that the extra power value is maintained to be constant in proportion to a relationship between the charge power value and a first parameter, based on the second message.

Disclosed is an apparatus for harvesting leakage energy. The apparatus for harvesting leakage energy includes: an energy harvesting unit configured to harvest energy leaked while energy radiated from a transmitting unit of an energy transmitting apparatus is transmitted to a receiving unit of an energy receiving apparatus; and a harvesting circuit module configured to supply energy harvested by the energy harvesting unit to a load. In accordance with the embodiment of the present invention, energy efficiency of overall system can be increased by harvesting the leakage energy without affecting performance of a wireless power transmission system.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for performing position estimation of multiple receiving coil and wireless power transmission. A method for performing wireless power transmission according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise: calculating a current value flowing through one or more transmitting (Tx) coils by measuring an impedance value of the one or more Tx coils; identifying whether a receiving (Rx) coil associated with the one or more Tx coils exists; when one or more Rx coils exist, calculating a correlation value between a Tx coil and a Rx coil for each of the one or more Rx coils; determining a position of the one or more Rx coils; and performing wireless power transmission to the one or more Rx coils.
