Abstract: Any point in time backups for distributed consistency is disclosed. IOs from a consistency group are received by multiple aggregators and stored in corresponding journals. In response to a bookmark, the multiple journals are synthesized to create a do stream or to add the multiple journals to the do stream. A full synchronization operation can be performed simultaneously with replication operations.

Abstract: A system can determine timeseries telemetry data of a first resource utilization of a data center maintained by the system. The system can predict, from the timeseries telemetry data, a second resource utilization of the data center will occur at a future time, the second resource utilization exceeding a threshold amount of resource utilization of the data center. The system can determine, based on an amount of time available until the future time, a selected location indicative of whether to install additional hardware at a first physical location of the data center, or a second physical location of the data center, wherein an amount of time associated with installing the additional hardware at the first physical location is less than an amount of time associated with installing the additional hardware at the second physical location. The system can install the additional hardware at the selected location.

Abstract: Retroactive backup compliance. A data stream from a production site is stored in secondary storage associated with a data protection system. In response to an event such as a regulation change or a service level agreement change, backups are generated retroactively from the stored data stream. Backups are generated to correspond to times in the past. Backups can also be replaced, deleted, or generated ad-hoc. Further, the retroactively generated backups are generated to be consistent.

Abstract: A system can maintain a first data center in a first physical location that comprises first compute hardware, and a second data center in a second physical location that comprises second compute hardware. The system can establish an overlay network that spans the first data center and the second data center. The system can establish a group of virtualized volume identifiers that spans the first data center and the second data center, and that virtualizes physical storage volumes. The system can determine whether to process a customer virtualized workload on the first data center or on the second data center to produce a selected location, wherein the customer virtualized workload is configured to be processed on the first data center and to be processed on the second data center.
