摘要： The present invention provides novel MDCK-derived adherent non-tumorigenic cell lines that can be grown in the presence or absence of serum. The cell lines of the present invention are useful for the production of vaccine material (e.g., viruses). More specifically, the cell lines of the present invention are useful for the production of influenza viruses in general and ca/ts influenza viruses in particular. The invention further provides methods and media formulations for the adaptation and cultivation of MDCK cells such that they remain non-tumorigenic. Additionally, the present invention provides methods for the production of vaccine material (e.g., influenza virus) in the novel cell lines of the invention.

摘要： An equilateral foot bed and a system using the equilateral foot bed are provided for treating foot injuries and deformities, while allowing the patient to remain ambulatory. Embodiments include a foot bed having a first portion and a second portion, the second portion having a greater thickness than the first portion. The portions of differing thickness support, align and cushion portions of the foot. The foot bed is selectively usable in either a left foot-receiving or a right foot-receiving configuration.

摘要： A gaming system for playing a restricted-access progressive game comprises a database containing data, including a list of players having access to the restricted-access progressive game. The system includes a gaming terminal with a connection port for coupling the gaming terminal to the data-base. The gaming terminal has a player-identification device providing player information. The information is compared with data in the database to determine whether the restricted-access progressive game can be activated and game information displayed at the gaming terminal. A method of operating the progressive game comprises receiving a player-identification input at the gaming terminal and transmitting a player-identifier signal from the gaming terminal to a remotely located controller that determines accessibility to the progressive game. The method further includes receiving, at the gaming terminal, a progressive game accessibility signal from the remotely located controller and, if the signal is positive, allowing a player to conduct the progressive game.

摘要： A mobile that is constructed from modular components. The mobile is particularly suited for displaying pictures (i.e. photographs) and updating pictures from time to time. The modular components include display envelopes, a modular support, a hanger, and a suspension medium (i.e. thread). Each of the display envelopes are capable of simultaneously displaying two pictures. The display envelopes are suspended from the modular support via the suspension medium. The hanger is centrally located along the length of the modular support and facilitates hanging the modular support and the associated display envelopes from an external structure. The modular support and interconnected display envelopes are optimally balanced by the alignment of the hanger. In particular, the modular support and the associated display envelopes are balanced by longitudinally sliding the hanger along the modular support.
