Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing programmable memory functions for bi-directional cell traffic in a switch platform are provided, wherein a parameterized bi-directional FIFO unit controls cell traffic in a switch platform using a first and a second unidirectional FIFO buffer. The first and second unidirectional FIFO buffers each comprise asynchronous read and write ports. A cell size and a word size of the first and second unidirectional FIFO buffers are programmable. The bi-directional FIFO unit is coupled to write at least one cell from and read at least one cell to at least one asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) interface, at least one frame relay interface, at least one voice interface, and at least one data interface. As such, the first unidirectional FIFO buffer is coupled to write at least one cell from, and the second unidirectional FIFO buffer is coupled to read at least one cell to an ATM interface, a frame relay interface, a voice interface, and a data interface. The first unidirectional FIFO buffer is coupled to read at least one cell to at least one switch, and the second unidirectional FIFO buffer is coupled to write at least one cell from at least one switch, wherein the switch handles cells from sources having a number of bandwidths. The switch is coupled to route the at least one cell between an OC12 trunk line and at least one service module. The service module is coupled to provide the cell to at least one service subscriber using T1, E1, T3, E3, OC3, and OC 12 ports.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for routing cells having different formats among service modules of a switch platform are provided. The cells are routed among service modules of a switch by a cell bus controller (CBC) using a first memory to convert an address having a first format into an address having a second format. The address having the first format is received in a header of a cell, and the address format comprises a 17-bit cell bus logical connection number of a destination port. The address having the second format is a 16-bit UDF used by a switch of the switch platform. The address having the first format is used to form a third address that is used to access the first memory. The data located at the third address of the first memory is a 16-bit UDF used to address the switch. A second memory is used to convert an address having the second format into an address having the first format. The address having the second format is used as a fourth address to access the second memory. The data located at the fourth address of the second memory is a 32-bit cell bus header that addresses a destination port. The destination port is at least one service module of the switch platform. The first and second memory comprise an external random access memory.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for synchronously selecting different oscillators as the system clock source. The apparatus is comprised of two oscillator selectors. Each of the oscillator selectors has as its inputs the output of each of the oscillators and a three-bit command code which indicates which of the oscillators is to be selected by the oscillator selector and a single clock output. A different oscillator may be selected by each of the oscillator selectors at the same time. The output of the oscillator selectors are inputs to the clock controller. The clock controller also receives command signals for controlling the switching of the clock controller between the outputs of the two oscillator selectors. The output of the clock controller is the clock source for the system and a status signal indicating which oscillator selector is presently being used.
Abstract:
A monitoring system capable of being operationalized. Power consumption is electrical devices is monitored by the use of new and innovative consumption power monitoring device in accordance with the present invention. Power consumption information is collected by an intelligent power hub that is communicatively coupled to a remote server that presents overall power usage displays. A method of operationalizing a power usage monitoring system comprises powering up an energy pump device when the energy pump device is plugged into a first power socket, setting the energy pump device automatically to a SET mode to acquire new monitoring devices, and discovering the presence of a power consumption monitoring device.
Abstract:
A lightwall instrument for photographic purposes includes a supporting frame, a light source, a diffuser wall, and one or more shading walls. The position of the light source is adjustable. The shape of the diffuser wall is selectively changed for different effects. The present invention provides a convenient and flexible lightwall instrument for better effect of photographs or films. The light generated by the lightwall instrument is soft, even, and saturated. The effects are highly adjustable. The operation is easy.
Abstract:
One embodiment of the invention includes a system for overriding an operation of an electronic device. The system includes an override hardware logic that is communicatively coupled with a monitoring system. The monitoring system can output an electronic command signal in response to a detected point of failure associated with the system. In response to receiving the electronic command signal, the override hardware logic can override the operation performed by the electronic device in order to compensate for the detected point of failure.
Abstract:
Virtual local area network (VLAN) identifications (VIDs) used in a local area network (LAN) are identified. The LAN is connected to a connection-oriented wide area network (WAN). Each VLAN supports multiple priorities. For each VID, each of the priorities is mapped to a service type available in the WAN. Virtual connections (VCs) are set up based using a combination of the VID and the mapping of the priorities to the service types.
Abstract:
A method and system for yield similarity of semiconductor devices. The method includes providing a first plurality of semiconductor devices, providing a second plurality of semiconductor devices, obtaining a first plurality of yields associated with a first yield, and obtaining a second plurality of yields associated with a second yield. Additionally, the method includes performing a first statistical analysis for the first plurality of yields, determining a first statistical distribution, performing a second statistical analysis for the second plurality of yields, and determining a second statistical distribution. Moreover, the method includes processing information associated with the first statistical distribution and the second statistical distribution, and determining an indicator. Also, the method includes processing information associated with the indicator, determining a confidence level, processing information associated with the confidence level, and determining whether the first yield and the second yield are similar.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed wherewith a person skilled in the art of statistical quality control may use to determine whether a process or a product is statically equivalent to another of known quality, or conforms to a desired known quality. The method may also be used to determine whether multiplicities of products or processes are statistically equivalent to one another. The method makes the determination based calculating an equivalency index that is associated with the measured parametric data, the population ratio of data points within a set of parametric limits.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and computer software products are provided for determining genotype of a sample using a plurality of probes. In one preferred embodiment, a tentative genotype call is made based upon the relative allele signals. Pattern recognition is then used to validate the tentative call.
