摘要: An apparatus includes a housing including an LCD screen capable of displaying settings information and an energy savings settings icon, and a processor configured to detect multiple inputs with the housing including settings information provided by a user in response to an interaction with the housing. The processor is further configured to initiate a suggestion of a setting resulting in a display of the energy savings settings icon, and process the multiple inputs and determine a schedule and determine whether to display the energy savings settings icon based on the determined schedule. A wireless communication module is configured to access a hosted web service and a mobile device, each of which receive multiple inputs such that the settings information can be provided remotely. The multiple inputs include detecting a presence in proximity to the housing over a period of time and providing a presence status to determine the settings information.

摘要: A controller for controlling energy consumption in a home includes a constraints engine to define variables for multiple appliances in the home corresponding to various home modes and persona of an occupant of the home. A modeling engine models multiple paths of energy utilization of the multiple appliances to place the home into a desired state from a current context. An optimal scheduler receives the multiple paths of energy utilization and generates a schedule as a function of the multiple paths and a selected persona to place the home in a desired state.

摘要: A load control system for controlling the amount of power delivered from an AC power source to a plurality of electrical load includes a plurality of energy controllers. Each energy controller is operable to control at least one of the electrical loads. The load control system also includes a first broadcast controller that has a first antenna and a second antenna. The first antenna is arranged in a first position and the second antenna is arranged in a second position that is orthogonal to the first position. The broadcast controller is operable to transmit a first wireless signal via the first antenna and a second wireless signal via the second antenna. Each of the energy controllers is operable to receive at least one of the first and second wireless signals, and to control the respective load in response to the received wireless signal.

摘要: A method of defining a message to be sent to at least one appliance regarding a schedule for performing a cycle of operation includes a step of acquiring pricing data from a source of information about a resource consumed by the appliance. A projected rate for the use of the resource by the appliance for a future series of time periods is calculated based upon a user preference. A projected schedule for performing the cycle of operation for a future series of time periods is created and then incorporated into the message that is transmitted to the appliance.

The method includes the following steps, implemented by a data processing module: acquiring information related to the operating phases, in progress or forthcoming, for at least two household appliances, the information related to an operating phase for a household appliance including the power used by the household appliance during the phase; determining, on the basis of the acquired information, at least one operating phase of one of the appliances to be interrupted so as to minimize peak power use; and interrupting the determined operating phase.

摘要: An electrical receptacle responds to acoustic inputs. A microphone integrated into the electrical receptacle generates electrical signals in response to the acoustic inputs. A network interface integrated into the electrical receptacle provides addressable communication with controllers, computers, and other networked devices. The electrical receptacle may thus be installed or retrofitted into the electrical wiring of all homes and businesses. Users may thus speak voice commands, which are received by the electrical receptacle and sent for voice control of appliances and other automation tasks.

摘要: A power management apparatus includes a storage unit to store power rate levels corresponding to a plurality of power rates, and store display information corresponding to the power rate levels, a communication unit to receive power rates for each hour of each day from a power provider, a controller to confirm power rate levels corresponding to power rates for each hour of each day, and confirm display information for each power rate level, and a control panel unit to display the power rates for each hour of each day according to individual power rate levels, the displayed power rate levels being displayed as different types of display information. The power management apparatus allows the user to intuitively recognize the current power rate and the current power rate level, and predicts the future power rates and the future power rate level, such that it can establish an optimum power use schedule.
