    Abstract: An ultrasound diagnostic apparatus includes a probe having an array transducer, a transmitting unit that transmits an ultrasound beam from the array transducer, an insertion device insertable into a subject and having a photoacoustic wave generation unit, a light source that irradiates the photoacoustic wave generation unit with light to generate a photoacoustic wave, a sequence control unit that performs control so that a photoacoustic wave is received each time the array transducer receives an ultrasound echo along a predetermined number of scan lines, an insertion depth detection unit that detects an insertion depth of the insertion device on the basis of a photoacoustic wave reception signal, and a notification unit that provides a notification to a user in a case where the insertion depth of the insertion device is deeper than a determined depth.

    Abstract: A photoacoustic image generation apparatus includes: a puncture needle including a photoacoustic wave generation portion that absorbs light and generates photoacoustic waves; an acoustic wave detection unit having a piezoelectric element array in which a plurality of piezoelectric elements that detect the photoacoustic waves are arranged; a controller configured to specify some piezoelectric element groups in the piezoelectric element array and switches the piezoelectric element groups to acquire detection signals of all receiving regions in the piezoelectric element array; and a processor configured to generate a photoacoustic image on the basis of the detection signals of the photoacoustic waves, detect a position of a tip portion of the puncture needle on the basis of the photoacoustic image. The controller specifies the piezoelectric element groups on the basis of the position of the tip portion of the puncture needle detected by the processor.

    Abstract: In a photoacoustic measurement apparatus and a photoacoustic measurement system, blood flow information in a desired region can be generated using a photoacoustic image. A light source emits measurement light. A probe detects a photoacoustic wave generated in a subject after measurement light is emitted to the subject in each of the avascularized condition in which the subject is avascularized and the non-avascularized condition in which the subject is not avascularized. Photoacoustic image generation unit generates a photoacoustic image based on the detection signal of the photoacoustic wave. A light emission control unit 33 controls the number of light emissions and the light emission interval of the laser unit 13 for one photoacoustic image generation based on the ratio between the S value and the N value.
