There is one SAM port for each of a plurality of sets of columns. A video random access memory (VRAM) or a multi-port dynamic random access memory (DRAM) of the present invention provides increased flexibility in smaller die area.

    摘要: A three port memory device has two serial ports and a random access memory port. The random access memory port is addressed to a random access memory in a conventional manner, using RAS and CAS address signals. Data may also be supplied and retrieved through two serial ports to a pair of serial access memories for transfer between the serial ports and the random access memory. This configuration permits formatted data to be simultaneously assessed through the two serial ports, while the random access memory port is being accessed.

    摘要: A remote monitor controller decodes image data destined for a display associated to the controller, and continuously shows the image on the display until another image is provided to the controller. An image generating device, such as a personal computer, provides image data to as many displays as desired. The personal computer sends the image data to a controller associated with each display. The controller then formats the image to be shown on the display, and sits in an endless loop until another image is provided to it. Depending on the speed of the computer network, a range of options is available, from nearly static images that don't often change to full motion video on all of the displays. The controller includes an input module that receives a stream of digital data, a microcontroller that converts the digital data into image display data and stores it into a video RAM, and an output module that sends the stored image to the associated display.

    摘要: This invention is directed to an improvement of a field emission display architecture in which low-voltage row and column address signals control a much higher pixel activation voltage. Instead of using a pair of series-coupled transistors the emitter node grounding path as in the original architecture (one of which is gated by a column signal d the other of which is gated by a row signal), only a single transistor is utilized in the emitter node grounding path thus eliminating an intermediate node between the two transistors that was responsible for unwanted emissions under certain operating conditions. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a current regulating resistor is placed in the grounding path in series with the primary grounding transistor, with the resistor being directly coupled to ground. Additionally, for the preferred embodiment of the invention, the gate of the grounding transistor is coupled via a second field-effect transistor to either a row signal or a column signal. In the case where the gate of the first transistor is coupled to a row signal, the gate of the second transistor is coupled to a column signal. Likewise, where the gate of the first transistor is coupled to a column signal, the gate of the second transistor is coupled to a row signal. Numerous other equivalent circuits are possible, and several examples of such equivalent circuits are depicted in this disclosure.

    摘要: In a field emission display, a microchannel plate is mounted between an emitter panel and a display screen. The inner walls of the cylindrical passageways through the microchannel plate are coated with a conductive layer which is connected to a plate voltage. Electrons emitted from the emitter panel travel through cylindrical passageways in the microchannel plate toward the display screen. As electrons pass through the microchannels, the electrons are multiplied and collimated to increase the intensity of the light emitted from the screen and to reduce the pixel size.
