Abstract:
A system for adjusting the light uniformity of a monitor. The system comprises a camera for capturing a test pattern image on a display of the monitor and a controller configured to select the test pattern image and to cause the monitor to display the selected test pattern image. The controller receives the captured image from the camera and compares pixel values from the captured image to known pixel values associated with the selected test pattern image. The selected test pattern image has an ideal uniform light distribution and the captured image has a non-uniform light distribution. In response to the comparison, the controller calculates a compensation light distribution that may be combined with the non-uniform light distribution to generate a resulting image on the display of the monitor having a resulting light distribution that approximates the ideal uniform light distribution.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for processing a video signal includes means for receiving the video signal, means for analyzing the video signal based upon a user supplied set of instructions, means for processing the video signal in accordance with the analysis, and means for outputting the processed video signal.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are described for enabling the viewing of positionally and orientationally modified stereoscopic video material using one or more participants with near-to-eye displays with video content appearance altered to accommodate changes in orientation and position of the display.
Abstract:
A controller for an LCD display is described. The controller can control an LED backlight that includes an array of LED lighting elements and an LCD panel that includes a number of pixels. The controller can modulate an individual or groups of the lighting elements in the LED backlight, such as dimming lighting elements, to control a light-field emitted from the LED backlight. The modulation of the lighting elements, such as dimming, can improve image contrast ratios that are generated using the LCD display. Methods and apparatus are described that can simplify calculations used to determine 1) the light-field generated by the LED backlight and 2) a correction factor for adjusting pixel data. The correction factor can be used to adjust an amount of light transmitted by each pixel in the LCD panel to compensate for the backlight producing a light-field that is brighter in some areas and dimmer in other areas.
Abstract:
The present invention generally provides an insulating vessel for beverages. The vessel has an outsert and a insert. The insert is positioned within the cavity of the outsert. In one embodiment the insert has a plurality of insulating members that are spaced from an inner surface of the outsert to define a series of air gaps between an outer surface of the insulating members and the inner surface of the outsert. In another embodiment, the insert and outsert have generally conical side walls with substantially the same taper angle so as to be in a friction lock relationship with one another.
Abstract:
In a liquid crystal display (LCD) driver circuit, harmonizing a pixel inversion pattern and a dither pattern is disclosed. The pixel inversion pattern and the cooperating dither pattern interact with each other in such a way that there is substantially no discernable video artifacts generated. The cooperating dither pattern can be selected from a plurality of dither patterns using a programmable dither block.
Abstract:
A user can audition creatives with in a snapshot of a proposed web page of a publisher website in the local application. Multiple snapshots of proposed pages for placement may be downloaded from publisher web sites and stored in a local library. The user can replace existing advertisements or other creatives and the corresponding HTML code with proposed creatives to determine which creatives will provide the best contextual fit for the proposed web site and page. The graphical nature of the application enables the user to drag and drop a creative from a local palette selected from a creatives library onto a web page snapshot.
Abstract:
The invention provides for calculating the sum of the luminance values of all pixels in each of a number of regions making up the whole image. A histogram is then created of all the sums of luminance at the end of each frame. The histogram is then rescaled such that the luminance range is normalized. Once the histogram has been created, an appropriate transfer function is created using the integrated luminance histogram for the frame. In this way detail within significant objects in the image are enhanced since the average luminance of objects in an image are weighted more than then the luminance of individual pixels providing a more realistic transfer function.
Abstract:
A method for receiving OSD data over from a computer for display on a monitor over a transmission link that includes, launching an OSD application on the computer; receiving an OSD control command at the computer; encoding the OSD control command by the OSD application; converting the encoded OSD control command into an OSD data packet; converting the OSD data packet into at least two OSD pixel patterns, sending the two OSD pixel patterns over the transmission link to the monitor, and displaying the OSD.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and system for determining a true horizontal resolution of an analog video signal arranged to display a number of features having associated feature edges on a display each of which were created with a true pixel clock is described. For a test horizontal resolution, if it is determined that substantially all of the feature edges have substantially the same phase relationship to a test pixel clock, then the test horizontal resolution is the true horizontal resolution.
