    Abstract: Examples provided herein describe a method for managing power consumption of a network. For example, a network device may monitor a set of network area zones of a network coverage area, where each network area zone is associated with a set of edge devices. A first occupancy state may be determined for a first network area zone of the set of network area zones based on usage of a first set of edge devices of the first network area zone. Based on the determined first occupancy state, a first power consumption policy for the first network area zone may be determined. Responsive to determining the first power consumption policy, the determined first power consumption policy may be applied to the first set of edge devices in the first network area zone at least edge changing a power consumption mode of a first edge device in the first set of edge devices.

    Abstract: Operation of a wireless network access point (AP) to communicate with a first set of one or more wireless client devices using a wireless protocol in which spatial reuse of channels is supported via at least a dynamically configurable basic service set (BSS) identifier of the wireless AP. The BSS identifier is utilized to identify overlapping BSSs (OBSSs). A first set of one or more wireless client devices communicate using a wireless protocol in which spatial reuse of channels is supported via at least a dynamically configurable BSS identifier of the wireless AP. The BSS identifier is utilized to identify OBSSs. Unauthorized network activity is detected based on the BSS identifier and a received BSS identifier associated with the received transmissions. A dynamic adjustment is made to one of the BSS identifiers of the AP or the received BSS identifier in response to detected unauthorized network activity.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for increasing power save efficiency of stations within a wireless communications network. An access point (AP) can receive one or more session requests to establish a session from a station, each session request including one or more requested session parameters. The AP can set the session parameters to ensure that a session period of each requested session does not overlap two or more target beacon transmission time (TBTT) frames. The AP can merge two or more session periods of the one or more sessions by calculating a session period offset to align the end time of two or more session periods. Merging the two or more session periods minimizes the total wake time of the station.

    Abstract: Embodiments are directed to intelligent scheduling of Wi-Fi services for applications. An embodiment of computer-readable storage mediums includes instructions for receiving data packets from multiple connected devices at a wireless access point and identifying an application traffic flow for each data packet; assigning each data packet to a respective queue of a first set of queues based on an identified application traffic flow for each data packet; selecting data packets from the first set of queues based on priorities for each of multiple applications; generating prioritized candidate lists for selected data packets in a second set of queues, each queue being dedicated for an access category for one or more application; and scheduling data packets from the candidate lists, including selecting a transmission mode for each access category based on characteristics of the one or more applications.

    Abstract: An example method of controlling a wireless access point may include causing the wireless access point to identify any groupings of contiguous non-protocol FFT bins of a wireless channel in which all of the non-protocol FFT bins in the grouping have respective signal strength values exceeding a first threshold, and a bandwidth of the grouping does not exceed a second threshold. The method may also include causing the wireless access point to identify any resource units of the wireless channel that overlap with any of the identified groupings. The method may also include causing the wireless access point to, in allocating the resource units to client devices for an OFDMA communication, skip the identified resource units.

    Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure relate to recovery from BSS color collision. The method comprises determining a first basic service set (BSS) color of a BSS for communications between the first AP and a client device. The method further comprises determining a second BSS color of the BSS for communications between the first AP and a second AP. In this case, the second BSS color is different from the first BSS color. The method further comprises detecting that the first BSS color is used by a neighboring BSS. Lastly, the method further comprises changing the first color of the BSS to a third color for communications between the first AP and the client device. In this way, by sparing the BSS color switch time between the APs, the recovery from the BSS color collision event for the entire BSS is facilitated.
