摘要: Disclosed is a disk storage apparatus to control writing to a storage medium having a storage area to which a first address space is allocated and whose transfer rate spatially changes, including a command reception section and control section. The command reception section receives a write command from a host apparatus and containing an address of the first address space. The control section performs control to divide the storage area into zones, pre-define a second address space where blocks are successively allocated to the zones from a beginning address of the first address space, replace, for each of the write commands received by the command reception, an address of the first address space contained therein with an address of the second address space, select one of the zones as a write target zone by cyclical changing, and perform a writing process to the storage medium for each selected zone.

摘要: A recording/reproducing apparatus is provided which can write continuously a file of large-capacity at high-speed. A record area of HDD is provided with a disk cache area for temporarily storing data to be written. The disk cache area is defined as a area that is not used by a host apparatus (3) in an LBA space, and the disk cache area is disposed in an area with a high transfer rate such as an outer circumferential area of a disk (10). A file transferred from the host apparatus (3) is written in the disk cache area, and the file is transferred from the disk cache area to a usual user area during an idle period to release the disk cache area and prepare for next transfer data write.

摘要: A method and apparatus for efficiently encoding an ECC block for improving writing performance of a storage device using an ECC block format having a linear code such as a Reed-Solomon code is described. When the data f1 of a part of data sectors among a plurality of data sectors which form an ECC block F1 having a PO portion q1 formed with a linear code such as a Reed-Solomon code is updated with data f2 to obtain the ECC block F2 having the updated PO portion q2, the ECC block F1+F2 of the exclusive OR of the source data part of the ECC block F1 before updating and the ECC block F2 after updating is taken, so that the XOR of f1 and f2 (i.e. f1+f2) of the data f1 to be updated and the updated data f2 is obtained. The XOR of non-updated data sectors is 0. Then, when the ECC block F1+F2 of the XOR is encoded, the PO portion in the form of the XOR q1+q2 is obtained in accordance with the linearity of the Reed-Solomon code. Thus, q2 can be gained based on the exclusive OR of q1+q2 and q1, resulting in the ability to write out the data more efficiently.

摘要: A large scale LCD device has a plurality of LCD modules coupled together to form a single screen of the LCD panel. Each module has a plurality of top holes, bottom protrusions, left protrusions and right holes on respective sides of the module. The top hole has a longitudinal section and a transverse section for guiding the bottom protrusion in a horizontal direction for locking the bottom protrusion with the top hole. In the movement of the module for guiding the protrusion for locking operation, the left protrusions advance to the right holes to be received therein and locked with locking pins.

摘要: A computer system is implemented by a plurality of electronic modules having different parts, cascaded in the vertical direction and each having a similar configuration. Adjacent two of the modules are coupled by rotating a pair of lock dials to a lock position at which the locked pin of the protrusion is engaged with a helical groove formed in the lock dials. A common signal bus is formed by engagement of a plug and receptacle at the locked position. The adjacent modules are separated by rotating the lock dial to an open position.

摘要: Parallel ML processing of an analog signal in a RLL-coded channel in which (1) vectors for a current state of the channel and the next state of the channel are computed using Walsh transform vector coefficients of the analog signal; (2) current state vectors and next state vectors and values of vectors precomputed in analog matched filters are used to generate vector scalar products which are compared against preselected threshold values for generating binary decision outputs that are used in digital sequential finite state machines to generate ML symbol decisions; and (3) ML symbol decisions are fed back and used to subtract the intersymbol interference value of the current state vector from the vector of the next state to transform the next state vector into an updated current state vector.

摘要: A document sheet feeder in accordance with the present invention includes a document sheet stacker, an inclined surface portion which is inclined by a predetermined angle with respect to the document sheet stacker, a separation roller which is disposed above the document sheet stacker and which has a plurality of equiangularly-spaced-apart blades extending radially outwardly from the outer surface of the separation roller, a feed roller disposed downstream of the separation roller in order to feed a separated sheet to a predetermined position and pinch roller movable to contact with or disengage from the feed roller. The separation roller is rotatably carried at the end of a first swinging arm and is moved between an operative position at which the sheet separation is effected and an inoperative position spaced apart from the operative position. A pinch roller is rotatably carried at the leading end of a second swinging arm which in turn is swung to a position at which the pinch roller is made into contact with the feed roller when the separation roller is in the operative position for separating a sheet one at each time.
