Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP), station (STA), and method of communication are generally described herein. The AP may perform channel sensing in a first channel of a first frequency band and a second channel of a second frequency band to obtain access for transmission of a physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) that comprises multiple subframes. The transmission of the PPDU may be configurable to use a multi-band layer-1 aggregation of the first and second channels. While the second channel is unavailable, the AP may transmit one or more subframes on the first channel without usage of the multi-band layer-1 aggregation. When it is determined that the second channel has become available, the AP may switch to synchronized transmission of the subframes on the first and second channels in accordance with the multi-band layer-1 aggregation.

Abstract: Embodiments of an AP and wake up radio (WUR) non-AP station (STA) are generally described herein. The AP may transmit a WUR packet to wake up a wireless local area network (WLAN) radio of the WUR non-AP STA. A non-WUR portion of the WUR packet may include legacy fields and a BPSK mark to spoof high throughput (HT) devices receiving the WUR packet. The AP may transmit the BPSK mark in a channel that includes a lower guard band, a transmission bandwidth, and an upper guard band. The AP may encode the BPSK mark in accordance with: on-off keying (OOK) modulation in a center portion of the transmission bandwidth; and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in a remaining portion of the transmission bandwidth that excludes the center portion.

A device may establish a communication session with one or more NGV devices. The device may determine an NGV frame comprising a legacy signal field (L-SIG) and an NGV signal field. The device may determine a plurality of data subcarriers and a plurality of pilot subcarriers associated with the L-SIG, wherein the plurality of data subcarriers and the plurality of pilot subcarriers are surrounded by at least two additional subcarriers. The device may cause to send the NGV frame to the one or more NGV devices.

The processing circuitry may be further configured to respond to a determination that the TOC frame includes a resource allocation by encoding a second PPDU including a preamble portion and a media access control (MAC) portion including a receive with condition (ARC) frame, the ARC frame including a second duration field indicating a remaining duration of the TXOP, an address field indicating a MAC address of the first AP, and a condition field indicating a condition.

Abstract: Techniques to manage dwell times for pilot rotation are described. An apparatus may comprise a memory configured to store a data structure with a set of modulation and coding schemes (MCS) available to an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, each MCS having an associated pilot dwell time. The apparatus may further comprise a processor circuit coupled to the memory, the processor circuit configured to identify a MCS to communicate a packet using multiple subcarriers of the OFDM system, and retrieve a pilot dwell time associated with the MCS from the memory, the pilot dwell time to indicate when to shift a pilot tone between subcarriers of the multiple subcarriers during communication of the packet. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: A wireless communication device, system and method. The device comprises a memory and processing circuitry coupled to the memory. The processing circuitry has logic to multiplex a first signal into a second signal, and to encode the first signal and second signal using orthogonal frequency divisional multiple access (OFDMA), a the first signal being contained within one of a plurality of smallest resource units (smallest RUs) of the second signal, the first signal and the second signal having a same number of tones and a same tone spacing in a frequency domain, and a same symbol duration in a time domain, the first signal including a number of repeated portions in a time domain and a number of nulls in a frequency domain and representing an information bit of “1”; and cause transmission of a multiplexed signal including the second signal and the first signal multiplexed into the second signal.

Abstract: Embodiments of a wireless station and method for communicating in a Wi-Fi network in accordance with coexistence techniques are described. The station (STA) can include memory and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to decode a packet received from a second STA, the packet including an information element (IE) indicating the second STA is one of a hybrid class device or a narrowband (NB) class device. When the IE indicates that the second STA is a hybrid class STA, a hybrid packet is generated for transmission to the second STA. The hybrid packet includes a legacy preamble followed by a narrowband (NB) preamble and a NB payload. When the IE indicates that the second STA is a NB class STA, a NB packet is generated for transmission to the second STA. The NB packet including the NB preamble and the NB payload, and is generated without the legacy preamble.

Abstract: Logic of an access point may transmit a null data packet for beamforming training and transmit a beamforming report poll to the first station on a user list before receiving a transmission from the first station on the user list. Logic may wait for a timeout period to determine whether the first station on the user list will respond to the null data packet prior to transmitting the beamforming report poll. Logic may receive from the first station an indication that the first station is a slow beamforming report responder. Logic may reorder the user list to position a fast beamforming responder as the first station. And logic of the station may determine that the station is unable to complete and transmit the report so the logic may wait to transmit the beamforming report in response to a subsequent beamforming report poll frame.
