    Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for tone plans and preambles for extremely high throughput (EHT) in a wireless network are disclosed. An apparatus of an EHT access point (AP) or EHT station (STA), where the apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to: encode a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU), the PPDU including a EHT preamble, the EHT preamble including a legacy preamble portion and a EHT preamble portion, the legacy preamble including a legacy short training field (L-SFT), a legacy long-training field (L-LTF), and a legacy signal field (L-SIG), the EHT preamble portion comprising an EHT short signal field (EHT S-SIG), the EHT S-SIG including a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) subfield indicating a MCS of a subsequent data portion. The PPDU may be transmitted on a distributed or contiguous resource unit (RU) allocation. The RU may be configured to not straddle two physical 20 MHz subchannels.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a wireless station and method for communicating in a Wi-Fi network in accordance with coexistence techniques are described. The station (STA) can include memory and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to decode a packet received from a second STA, the packet including an information element (IE) indicating the second STA is one of a hybrid class device or a narrowband (NB) class device. When the IE indicates that the second STA is a hybrid class STA, a hybrid packet is generated for transmission to the second STA. The hybrid packet includes a legacy preamble followed by a narrowband (NB) preamble and a NB payload. When the IE indicates that the second STA is a NB class STA, a NB packet is generated for transmission to the second STA. The NB packet including the NB preamble and the NB payload, and is generated without the legacy preamble.

    Abstract: Communication devices and techniques for facilitating coexistence between networks operating at different bandwidths are described. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may include at least one memory and logic for a narrowband communication device, at least a portion of the logic comprised in hardware coupled to the at least one memory and the at least one wireless transmitter, the logic to determine a wideband preamble, determine a narrowband packet comprising a narrowband preamble and a narrowband packet data portion, and generate a binary-preamble packet comprising the wideband preamble and the narrowband packet.     Abstract: Bidirectional iterative beam forming techniques are described. An apparatus may include a wireless device having an antenna control module operative to initiate beam formation operations using an iterative training scheme to form a pair of communications channels for a wireless network, the antenna control module to communicate training signals and feedback information with a peer device via the transceiver and phased antenna array using partially or fully formed high rate channels, and iteratively determine antenna-array weight vectors for a directional transmit beam pattern for the phased antenna array using feedback information from the peer device.
