The variant selection rule specifies a location based condition to select a variant corresponding to the textual character. A variant is selected at the device according to the variant selection rule, a variant mapping corresponding to the first code point. The variant mapping includes the variant. The encoding of the textual character is replaced at the device with an encoding of the variant in the rendering of the content.

摘要： A method for configurable character variant unification is provided in the illustrative embodiments. A determination is made that a unification profile is applicable to a circumstance in which a character variant has been selected. The character variant is a variation of a character in a set of variations of the character such that each variation of the character in the set is represented by a unique Unicode code point. A unification repository is identified according to the profile. A determination is made whether the character variant satisfies a unification rule. Responsive to the character variant not satisfying the unification rule, a different variation of the character is selected from the unification repository, the different variation forming a replacement character variant. The replacement character variant is used in place of the character variant.

摘要： A user is assisted in a real-world environment. An assistance engine receives at least one context from the user. The assistance engine also receives a video stream of the real-world environment. The assistance engine performs an optical character recognition process on the video stream based upon the at least one context. The assistance engine generates a response for the user. A microphone on a head-mounted device receives the context from the user. A camera on the head-mounted device captures the video stream of the real-world environment. A speaker on the head-mounted device communicates the response to the user. The user may move in the real-world environment based upon the response to improve the optical character recognition process.

摘要： According to embodiments of the present invention, machines, systems, computer-implemented methods and computer program products for mimicking a presence notification to optimize utilization of computing resources of a system comprising a plurality of virtual components and a virtual component manager are provided. Using the virtual component manager, one or more components that are each performing functions limited to providing a presence notification may be detected. The detected one or more components may be suspended, and the presence notifications for each suspended component may be generated and transmitted by the virtual component manager. Suspending a component that is solely providing a presence notification frees up resources that may be utilized for another component performing computational work.
