Abstract:
An insertion device for an infusion set, the insertion device including a two-part housing and a retainer or a retention means by which the infusion set can be temporarily held on the device, and a driver or a drive means including a pretensionable spring for providing the drive energy for an insertion movement of the infusion set, wherein one of the housing parts can be pivoted relative to the other to engage the infusion set and, after engagement of the infusion set, they can be pivoted again, as a result of which the spring is pretensioned and the insertion device is brought to a ready-to-use state. After the insertion movement has been triggered, the infusion set is separated from the device, such that it can execute the greatest part of the insertion movement free of the retainer.
Abstract:
A pruner has a movable handle/blade assembly pivotally coupled to a static handle/blade assembly by a pivot assembly carried by the static handle. The pivot assembly comprises a bush within the static handle and on which the movable handle/blade assembly is pivotally mounted, a spring for pivotally biasing the movable handle/blade assembly to an open position being retained by the pivot assembly within the static handle. Both the movable blade and static blade are mounted on the bush and are clamped laterally between two separate parts of the bush which are assembled together in screw threaded engagement, and the two blades are supported from the bush by a bearing ring of low friction material.
Abstract:
A microphone assembly include a microphone housing unit having a cover and a base. The microphone assembly further includes a preamplifier circuit assembly attached to the base and protected by the cover. The protected preamplifier circuit assembly has at least one terminal unprotected by the cover. A radio frequency interference suppression device can be electrically coupled to the preamplifier circuit and includes at least one internal ground electrically coupled to the at least one terminal. The at least one internal ground provides a ground path between the cover and the base.
Abstract:
A hand-held dispenser (1) for dispensing a multiplicity of unit products (3) having a storage area (100) for storing the unit products, an outlet opening (311) through which the unit products are dispensable from the dispenser, a dispensing mechanism (350) actuable to dispense the unit products through the outlet opening, and a timing mechanism (409,411,413) adapted in use to time the period since last dispensing of a unit product.
Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments relate to methods, systems, and computer program products for managing productivity. Methods include establishing a planned execution time for performing a task. The task is assigned a unique identifier. Methods further include comparing the planned execution time with an actual execution time for performing the task and, based upon the results, calculating an efficiency rating. The actual execution time is extracted from a task dispatch system via the unique identifier. Methods also include associating the efficiency rating with one or more of: an individual performing the task, a supervisor of the individual performing the task, a group of individuals with which the individual performing the task is associated, and an organization associated with the individual performing the task.
Abstract:
A microphone assembly comprises a housing that includes a conductive material. A preamplifier circuit is disposed within the housing, the preamplifier circuit having a signal input and a ground terminal. A microphone portion is disposed within the housing, the microphone portion having an output coupled to the signal input of the preamplifier circuit. A ribbon wire is attached to the ground terminal of the preamplifier circuit and is attached to the housing.
Abstract:
A condenser microphone having a housing, a diaphragm assembly and backplate located within the housing. A spacer isolates the diaphragm assembly from the housing and spaces the diaphragm assembly from the backplate. The spacer has a first portion disposed between the backplate and the diaphragm assembly, and a second portion disposed between the diaphragm assembly and the wall of the housing. A conductive member electrically connects the backplate to a ground.
Abstract:
An algorithm residing in, for example the ECM of a motor vehicle, which predicts brake booster vacuum for vehicles using vacuum for brake pedal assist. The predicted brake booster vacuum is compared to a calibrated brake booster vacuum threshold to determine if adequate brake booster vacuum is available to meet vehicle braking requirements, whereupon engine operation can be modified, as necessary, to improve intake manifold vacuum such that brake booster vacuum requirements for vehicle braking are better satisfied.
Abstract:
The invention includes kits for producing and using immunogenic compositions that include swine infertility and respiratory virus. The invention also includes vaccines and sera for treatment of Mystery Swine Disease (MSD), a method for producing the vaccine, methods for diagnosis of MSD, a viral agent that will mimic “mystery swine disease” and antibodies to the viral agent useful in diagnosis and treatment of MSD. The serum contains mammalian antibodies which are effective in treating MSD.
Abstract:
A handle for use in production of brushes by fusion. The handle is injection molded with a set of pre-formed holes. Each hole contains, on its bottom surface, a protrusion of excess material. Bristles for the brush are heated to form a small fuse at their ends. When the fused ends are inserted into the holes, material from the protrusion flows around the fuses, retaining them in the holes upon cooling.
