    摘要: A shock absorbing and protective form of a horseshoe comprises a base that conforms to the shape of the perimeter of the horse's hoof, and from which protrudes a series of podded cleats that are strategically aligned and positioned below the horn of the hoof providing the prerequisite support for the horse. Each podded cleat has an internal air chamber, that when combined with the complying shape of the external wall allows partial or full collapse or deflation of this structural element effecting a most significant degree of cushioning, thus allowing a relatively high durometer elastomer for composition that would not otherwise provide sufficient compressibility, but having physical properties that surmount the factors of abrasion and wear and where such hard materials are identifiable as having a low frictional resistance in comparison to highly compressible, soft elastomers. The invention, wherein the action of the podded cleat is the inward, upward mechanical collapse, is enhanced with the memory retention of given elastomeric compounds thus allowing the podded cleat to recover upon release of load and reattain its original shape and dimensional form.

If the change in acceleration is less than the inactivity threshold and, if a predetermined period of time has elapsed, then inactivity is detected.

    摘要: Methodology and circuitry for determining if a device, such as a cellular phone or personal digital assistant has been tapped is disclosed. The device includes an accelerometer and in response to an acceleration, the accelerometer outputs an acceleration signal. The accelerometer may continuously output an acceleration signal even if no acceleration occurs. A tap detection device receives the temporally sampled acceleration signal and takes the first derivative of the temporally sampled acceleration signal producing one or more derivative values. The tap detection system compares each derivative value to a threshold value and if the derivative value exceeds the threshold a tap is detected. By taking the derivative of the acceleration signal, the noise floor for the acceleration signal is reduced leading to more accurate results with less false positives and less positive negatives.

The foam is applied into a partition, which may be a paper ring, by an injection and metering device. The chemistry of the flowable material may be altered to change density, rigidity and flexibility as required by package stresses. The polyurethane foam is an effective adhesive medium, thereby forming the core and connecting the sidewalls to form the package.

    摘要: A portable traction device primarily for application of pelvic traction can be easily transported, assembled and dismantled by a user for the self-application of traction without the need for specialized in-patient equipment. The device is carried in a padded storage bag and includes a foldable traction frame assembly on which the user lies during application of traction. Also included are a pelvic belt, traction cords and water bags to be attached to the belt as well as hip and neck support cushions, all of the components being receivable in the storage bag. The user carries the bag and sets up the device at any convenient location. A primary component of the device is a foldable frame assembly having a base plate on which the user lies during treatment and a frame at one end providing elevated cord guides over which the traction cords extend from the belt to the water bags.
