Abstract: The display device includes: a first substrate; a second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer placed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate and the second substrate have a display area and a frame area around the display area. The frame area has a seal material placed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The second substrate has: a second resin substrate; in the display area, a first multilayer layer placed on a side of the second resin substrate facing the liquid crystal layer, the first multilayer layer including a first inorganic insulating film, a light shielding member, and an overcoat film; and in the frame area, a second multilayer layer placed on the side of the second resin substrate facing the liquid crystal layer, the second multilayer layer including the light shielding member and the overcoat film.

Abstract: To achieve a liquid crystal display device of a field sequential system with sufficient response speed and uniformity of viewing angle, the liquid crystal display device includes polarizing plates attached on front and back surfaces of a liquid crystal display panel, a backlight provided on the back surface of the liquid crystal display panel, and an anisotropic diffusion film provided on the front side of the liquid crystal display panel. The liquid crystal display panel and the backlight are driven by the field sequential system. The distribution of the contrast of the liquid crystal display panel varies depending on the azimuth direction. Abstract: A pixel electrode formed into a slit structure with striped electrodes opposed to each other for a zero rubbing angle can provide fast response since rotational directions of the liquid crystals become opposite at both sides of the slit in the striped electrodes. Abstract: Disclosed is an intelligent reflecting surface including a plurality of radio-wave reflecting devices, an adjusting substrate over the plurality of radio-wave reflecting devices, and an anti-reflective film located over the adjusting substrate and configured to absorb radio waves. The anti-reflective film has a lattice shape as a whole.
