    摘要: An apparatus and method for lossless audio compression/decompression through entropy coding are provided. The apparatus comprises a buffer, a time-axis predictor, and a bit-allocation entropy coder/decoder, wherein the time-axis predictor is capable of subtracting the predicted value of a current input signal value from its original value, thereby generating a predicted error signal. The predicted error signal is then input into the bit-allocation entropy decoder in accordance with a coding guideline, and in turn is coded into data blocks with different lengths. Further, the data blocks after entropy coding comprise a 32-bit header and the real data following the header, wherein the real data is substantially a discrepancy between the prediction error of the data and the minimum value of each data block.

    摘要: A bifocal optical pickup head is disclosed for use in a optical pickup apparatus having a single objective lens, for generating two different focuses (bifocus) to access a compact disc (CD) and a digital versatile disc (DVD), which the thickness is different. When a beam passes through an optical element disclosed in the present invention, numerical aperture is controlled and spherical aberration is reduced by the optical element due to variations in optical path and radius. Therefore, after beams having different numerical apertures are focused by an objective lens, various focuses can be obtained.

    摘要: A production method of multi-layer information record carriers that involves forming a signal duplication layer on a substrate that contains signals, then replacing a metallic stamping plate with the substrate that comprises the signal duplication layer for manufacturing a signal layer of high molecular materials. After the signal layer has been subjected to curing by exposure to ultra violet light, the signal layer is separated from the signal duplication layer because of the difference between the adhesive forces of the different materials. Multi-layer information record carriers can be manufactured by repeating the manufacturing process. Since the manufacturing process of the invention is simple and speedy, it facilitates the creation of automated facilities for mass production.

    摘要: A new type of stator design and arc shaping method that is used in a diametrically wound and diametrical air gap type of brushless motor. After arc shaping, the stator of this brushless motor has an external profile composed of a central arc and two modified arcs located on each side of the central arc. The central arc subtends an angle twice that of angle A and the modified arcs each has a radius r, both angle A and r are given by the following formulae: ##EQU1## Through arc shaping the stator, the cogging torque is lowered while a certain standard value for the torque constant is still maintained. Thus, the overall efficiency of the brushless motor is raised.

    摘要: An apparatus for coating a magneto-optical recording medium film onto a disk substrate are provided. For proceeding the sputtering processes, a sputtering target containing Tb, Fe, and Co composition is prepared and placed in a sputtering gun which is served as a sputtering source. Facing to the sputtering gun, a clamping mechanism having a plurality of clampers arranged around the clamping mechanism is provided for clamping disk substrate thereon. During sputtering processes, the clamping mechanism is rotated about its axial center, and at the same time each clamper of the clamping mechanism is rotated about its axial center respectively. The clamper is designed in a form of facing the plane of the sputtering gun at a proper tilt angle, preferably 15 degrees, so that the disk substrate may be sputtered with a uniform thickness and composition of magneto-optical recording medium film thereon.
