摘要： Alternative designs, materials and manufacturing methods for guidewires. Some embodiments pertain to a composite guidewire having proximal and distal section, and a connector adapted and configured for permanently joining the proximal section to the distal section. In some embodiments, at least one of the sections is made of a linear-elastic nickel-titanium alloy. Several alternative guidewire tip constructions and/or designs including methods and techniques of construction are also disclosed.

The second substrate includes a surface for supporting the continuous flow of the liquid thereon and is adapted to carry a heat exchange fluid therethrough, wherein heat transfer occurs between the liquid and the heat exchange fluid.

摘要： A contact assembly for a circuit breaker includes a fixed contact, a movable contact, and a movable contact arm. The movable contact arm includes a first end carrying the movable contact, a second end, and a pivot portion proximate the second end. A moving arm portion extends from the first end toward the pivot portion. The moving arm portion has a width, an upper edge, a lower edge, and a height defined by the distance between the upper edge and the lower edge. In response to a trip condition, the movable contact separates from the fixed contact and the movable contact arm pivots open at an angular opening velocity. The height of the moving arm portion of the movable contact arm is at least four times the width of the moving arm portion, thus minimizing the moment-of-inertia of the movable contact arm, and increasing the angular opening velocity.

摘要： A vascular stent having one or more channels in the outer surface. The channel(s) provide increased flexibility, enhanced perfusion, increased chronic positional stability, and convenient dispensing of a medication. Preferably the stent is machined into a mesh-like pattern and the channel(s) are machined into the stent elements of the pattern. The channels may be oriented in a variety of ways. Parallel orientation tends to provide greater enhancement of perfusion whereas perpendicular orientation provides differential flexibility. For greater control of differential flexibility, the channel may be further machined in the stent element, producing a regain of greater flexibility.

摘要： A shorting switch includes a vacuum switch having fixed and movable contact assemblies and a driven member. A spring cover tube and bushing mount the driven member for linear movement along a path substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the movable contact assembly. The driven member moves the movable contact assembly between open and closed circuit positions. A compression spring has a compressed state and a released state, which moves the driven member and movable contact assembly to the closed circuit position. A release bolt has an opening therein and is coupled to the driven member to normally maintain the compression spring in the compressed state. A charge is disposed in the opening of the release bolt and is actuated to fracture the release bolt and release the compression spring to the released state. First and second terminals are respectively electrically interconnected with the fixed and movable contact assemblies.

摘要： An apparatus for correcting header information includes a transducer for reading and writing encoded information to a magnetic storage medium. A serial/deserializer provides a deserialized output. Header information from the deserializer is stored in a header storage register. The deserialized header information is also provided to a header error correction circuit. The header error correction circuit provides an output indicating location and value of errors in the header memory. This information is used to correct errors in the header memory. The corrected header information is compared with predetermined header information and used to determine whether subsequent data associated with the header should be written to or read from the magnetic storage medium.

摘要： Envelope viruses (e.g. Newcastle disease virus (NDV)) are formulated for storage at moderately cold temperatures (e.g. −20 C). The formulation is an aqueous solution containing the enveloped virus at a concentration of from 106 PFU/mL to 1012 PFU/mL; and a non-reducing saccharide (e.g. sucrose). When the non-reducing saccharide is a disaccharide it is present in the solution at a concentration of from 5% (w/v) to 50% (w/v), and when it is a monosaccharide it is present in the solution at a concentration of from 2.5% (w/v) to 25% (w/v). The solution has an osmotic pressure of about 250 mOs or higher, and has a pH of from 5 to 10.

摘要： A circuit breaker includes a housing, separable contacts, an operating mechanism structured to open and close the separable contacts, a power conductor comprising a first conductor and a second reverse loop conductor, the second reverse loop conductor carrying one of the separable contacts; and a split core slot motor. The split core slot motor comprises a first slot motor portion having a number of coupling points, and a second slot motor portion having a number of corresponding coupling points. The coupling points of the first slot motor portion engage the corresponding coupling points of the second slot motor portion to form the split core slot motor. Both of the slot motor portions cooperate to form a base of the split core slot motor. The base is disposed between the first conductor and the second reverse loop conductor.
