    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the performing spectral calibration of a CT imaging system. In accordance with certain embodiments, spectral calibration phantoms are scanned while positioned on a table in the imaging volume of the CT imaging system. The scans of the calibration phantoms, in conjunction with air sans performed on the CT imaging system, are used to derive information about the deviation of the measured phantom scans from an ideal. The deviation information is in turn used to derive spectral calibration vectors that may be used with the CT imaging system.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes a community model based point of interest local search platform. Specifically, logs of users that store selections while accessing a point of interest application are loaded into a database. The logs are of users that have similar demographic or other community attributes. The logs are then mined for contextual parameters, including, but not limited to time of day, day of week, distance, activity, environment, popularity, and personal preferences. The point of interest selections are then mapped to a multi-dimensional map where each dimension corresponds to a contextual parameter. Clusters are evaluated by a classifier and classes of users of the community are identified. When a user then queries the community model based point of interest local search platform, contextual parameters are submitted with the query, relevant classes identified, and the corresponding point of interest information is displayed to the user.

    Abstract: A phonetic suggestion engine for providing word or phrase suggestions for an input letter string initially converts an input letter string into one or more query phoneme sequences. The conversion is performed via at least one standardized letter-to-sound (LTS) database. The phonetic suggestion engine further obtains a plurality of candidate phoneme sequences that are phonetically similar to the at query phoneme sequences from a pool of potential phoneme sequences. The phonetic suggestion engine then prunes the plurality of candidate phoneme sequences to generate scored phoneme sequences.     Abstract: The present invention provides an improved optical wavelength switch in which no mechanical movement is required to direct optical pathways between several fiber ports. The inventive three-fiber port device divides incoming optical signals into two subsets of spectra and selectively directs them into two output ports in response to an electrical control signal. In the inventive switch, an optical signal is spatially split into two polarized beams, by a birefringent element, which thereafter pass through a series polarization rotation elements and recombine into output fibers, achieving polarization independent operation. Advantageously, the inventive switch incorporates two-stage polarization rotations to improve isolation depth, as well as temperature and wavelength independence. The invention also incorporates light bending devices to allow two fibers to be coupled to the light beams via a single lens, thereby achieving small beam separation for compactness. Switches rely on electromagnetically or electro-optically switching the beam polarizations from one state to another to rapidly direct the light path.
