    摘要: A system and apparatus for dynamically distributing light are provided. The apparatus includes a source conduit configured to collect light from a light source and transmit the collected light for emission towards an optical switch. The optical switch is moveable between several discrete resting positions, each corresponding to a different one of a plurality of projector conduits. In each resting position, the optical switch directs light from the source conduit to a corresponding projector conduit. Each projector conduit receives the directed light from the optical switch and transmits the light to a corresponding one of a plurality of projectors. The optical switch is also configured to rest at each of the resting positions for respective portions of a given period of time, to regulate what amount of the light emitted by the source conduit during the period of time is received by each projector conduit.

    摘要: A system and apparatus for dynamically distributing light are provided. The apparatus includes a source conduit configured to collect light from a light source and transmit the collected light for emission towards an optical switch. The optical switch is moveable between several discrete resting positions, each corresponding to a different one of a plurality of projector conduits. In each resting position, the optical switch directs light from the source conduit to a corresponding projector conduit.     摘要: An optical fiber switch (16) for alternatively redirecting an input beam (14) comprises a redirector (18) and a redirector mover (20). The redirector (18) is positioned in the path of the input beam (14) along a directed axis (344A). The redirector (18) redirects the input beam (14) so that a redirected beam (46) alternatively launches from the redirector (18) (i) along a first redirected axis (354) that is spaced apart from the directed axis (344A) when the redirector (18) is positioned at a first position (348), and (ii) along a second redirected axis (356) that is spaced apart from the directed axis (344A) when the redirector (18) is positioned at a second position (350) that is different from the first position (348). The redirector mover (20) moves the redirector (18) about a movement axis (366) between the first position (348) and the second position (350). The redirector mover (20) includes a stator component (320A) and a rotor component (320B) that moves relative to the stator component (320A). The input beam (14) is directed along the directed axis (344A) substantially between the stator component (32A) and the redirector (18) prior to the input beam (14) being redirected by the redirector (18).

    摘要: A system and method for a 1xN fiber optical switch is disclosed. The switch comprises (1) a pair of vertically oriented wedge prisms and (2) a collimator. The collimator comprises a four fiber ferrule and a lens. When no wedge prisms are inserted into the optical path, the signal is switched to port 1. When the first prism is inserted, the signal is switched to port 2. When the second prism is inserted (first prism not in), the signal is switched to port 3 which is in a vertical line. While both prisms are inserted into the optical path, the signal is switched to the diagonal port 4. Accordingly, a 1xN switch is provided that is more compact than a conventional 1xN switch. The 1xN fiber optical switch in accordance with the present invention have advantages over conventional opto-mechanical switches. The inventive 1xN switch is much smaller in size because all ports are held in one ferrule and only one lens is utilized.

    摘要: A micro relay switch (300) having a main body (13), a first electrical contact (302) positioned on a moveable relay switching element (17), and a second electrical contact positioned on the main body (13). One or more membranes (26, 52) connect the moveable switching element (17) to the main body (13) and an actuator (30) moves the moveable switching element (17) from a first position (72) to a second position (74). The first and second electrical contacts (302, 304) are positioned such that when the actuator (30) moves the moveable relay switching element (17) from the first position (72) to the second position (74), the first electrical contact (302) makes electrical connection with the second electrical contact (304). The membranes may be either or both of a primary membrane (26) or a secondary membrane (52). A primary membrane (26) may be used as a temporary membrane (32).
