摘要： A package for holding multiple media discs includes a hinged tray assembly, which includes a plurality of disc-holding trays, each tray having a hinge edge. The trays are positioned with respect to each other such that when the tray assembly is in a closed configuration, the trays are arranged in a stack with their hinge edges lined up with each other at a hinge side of the tray assembly. The trays are hinged to each other by a flexible hinge member that is affixed to the hinge edges of the trays. The package further includes a jacket, comprising a plurality of panels that fold around the tray assembly. The jacket includes an interior surface to which a bottom surface of the tray assembly is mounted, the plurality of panels folding around the tray assembly to close the package.

摘要： A package (10) is described that includes a sleeve (12) having at least one end defining an opening. The sleeve further includes at least one pair of locking tabs (18) extending therefrom, each locking tab including a locking edge, each locking tab being folded inwards into the opening. The package further includes a rigid end cap (14, 16) dimensioned to fit closely within the opening, the end cap including a rim (30, 32) designed so that, when the end cap is inserted into the opening, the rim engages the sleeve end and prevents the end cap from being inserted further into the opening. The end cap further includes a channel (22, 24) for receiving the pair of locking tabs, the channel having a ledge (34, 36) that engages the locking edge of each locking tab to prevent the end cap from being removed from the sleeve opening. Another described package provides a release mechanism for allowing an end cap to be removed without causing damage to the package.

摘要： A package has a sliding blister card and a locking sleeve made from a base and a top. The card is made from conventional blister dose packaging material, with blisters formed in a single layer plastic top holding medicaments on a sealing paper, board, or foil layer. The top and base form a closed case, open along one end. The blister card is slid into the sleeve until detent(s) engage aperture(s). Appurtenant(s) adjacent to the detent(s) urge the blister card to engage the detent(s) at the card's receiving aperture. Pressing on release disengages the card and detent by warping the card to move the aperture away from the detent so that the card may be slid through the open end of the sleeve. Reverse pressure easily slides the blister card back into the containment element without manipulation of parts.

摘要： A new DVD or CD package has thin disc-retaining straps which are vertically rigid and are bendable horizontally between bi-stable opposite curves. Opposite edges of discs are held by inward curved straps. A user flexes the straps outward into outer stable positions before removing the discs. Closing the cover of the box moves the straps to their inward curved stable positions. Ramps attached to the spine and to the outer edge of the cover push the straps inward. The ramps, or ribs, also prevent the straps from being pushed to an unlocked position when the case is closed. The straps are molded in inward, disc-holding positions through openings in the back of the tray. The straps are configured to hold one or more discs positioned in the cylindrical well of the tray, which is formed by four segmental curved walls. Finger wells extend between the segmental walls and through the base of the tray and are preferably located at 90° intervals to the straps to provide ease in removing the discs.

摘要： Optical arrangements are provided by which observers of flat containers or display boxes, such as compact disc (CD) jewel boxes, can be presented with different information about the contents of the box when looking at one of its surfaces from different angular perspectives. Advantageously, parallax effects are compensated where the size of the observable images and the viewing distance create undesirable visual artifacts. Horizontally and vertically oriented lenticulated panels are used in combination with interlaced images to convey the differently coded views without the need for physically manipulating such boxes as in the past to see equivalent information. Compliant inserts preferably provide the information content of the various views and are adapted for use with industry automated insert machinery while being self aligning with the lenticulated panels. These arrangements enhance the possibilities for displaying more and different kinds of information on a given box surface area compared with conventional approaches, and as such, enhance the prospects for increasing initial and multiple sales of CD products.

摘要： A molded plastic tray has a cover with a spline attached to the tray. A latch carried on a leaf spring is connected to the tray opposite the cover spline to hold edges of the cover. The latch-carrying leaf spring snaps inward to retain the cover closed and snaps outward to release the cover. Both top and bottom covers open so that the booklet can be removed from the bottom, and so that fingers may be extended through large corner openings in the tray to assist the removal of the compact disc. The cover has top and bottom rectangular panels hinged to a spline section of the cover. The spline section has holes which receive pins for connecting an overlying connector clip to fix the spline to the rear wall of the tray. Several splines may be hinged together between the panels so that several trays may be positioned between the top and bottom panels.
