    摘要: An image controlling device and method thereof is provided with superior operability when making selections from a menu displayed on a display device such as a CRT display. In the preferred embodiments of the image controlling device and method of the present invention, a menu is constructed by arranging a plurality of menu items three-dimensionally along a cylinder. A portion of these menu items is then displayed in such a manner that viewing is performed from the center of this cylinder outwards. The shifting velocity of the menu items is changed while all of the menu items are shifted in response to input signals from a controller operated by the user and the menu item arranged at the center of the picture is determined to be the selected menu item. When a following level exists for the selected menu item, this level is proceeded to and menu items are displayed on the display device in the same way. When the selected menu item does not have a following level an image corresponding to this menu item is displayed.

    摘要: In an AV-data transfer system, AV data stored in a RAID embedded in an AV server is supplied to a client personal computer connected to a network such as the Internet or an intranet by way of the network, and AV data output by the client personal computer is transmitted to the AV server through the network to be stored in the RAID. The AV server makes accesses to the RAID to write and read out data into and from the RAID. In addition to the AV server, the AV-data transfer system also includes another personal computer for exchanging AV data with the client personal computer and receiving a variety of commands from the client personal computer by way of the network in accordance with an FTP (File Transfer Protocol). As a result, it is possible to fast handle access requests made by a larger number of client personal computers.

    摘要: An information recording and replaying apparatus and a method of controlling the same are provided for manipulating information provided in real time and the other kind of information in a unified manner. A CG image produced by a CG producing apparatus is transferred to an AV server in the form of graphics commands and stored in disk arrays as they are. To replay a CG image, graphics commands are executed in a graphics circuit provided in the AV server to draw a graphics image. As a result, the time required for sending the CG image from the CG producing apparatus to the AV server is substantially reduced. The CG producing apparatus does not require a large-capacity storage for retaining drawn CG image data. The AV server stores the received graphics commands in the disk arrays as they are without expanding to CG image data. As a result, a large portion of the storage space of the disk arrays is not occupied.
