In a method for monitoring laser beam welding, a sequential signal representing a laser oscillating wave form is received, light of a predetermined wavelength in the light emitted from the weld zone is received, and the two signals thus received are processed to determine the minimum intensity of the light of the predetermined wavelength and thereby accurately deduce welding beam input and penetration of welding. An apparatus used in practicing the monitoring method includes a monitoring optical fiber for receiving and transmitting the light emitted from a weld being made on a workpiece, an interference filter for selectively passing light of a predetermined wavelength, and a processing device for determining an intensity of the light of the predetermined wavelength.

A method for forming a circuit pattern is disclosed. A circuit pattern that forms an electrically conductive layer (2L) is formed on an insulating resin (11) that forms a first insulating layer (1L). An insulating resin (13) that forms a second insulating layer (3L) is laminated on the insulating resin (11) on which the circuit pattern has been formed. A trench (14) is formed in the laminated insulating resin (13) to expose the circuit pattern. An electroless plating metal (15) is buried by electroless plating in the trench (14) formed.

To provide a turbocharger whose lifetime is long, which is capable of inexpensively and precisely performing nozzle vane angle synchronous control by using inexpensive and highly wear resistant components in a link mechanism for driving a rotation mechanism of nozzle vanes of an adjustable nozzle mechanism. As pins fixedly arrayed in a ring plate rotatably supported on the turbocharger, that set an angle of the nozzle vanes for controlling an amount of exhaust gas for rotating a turbine rotor, each pin in which a hard coating with a thickness of approximately 2 μm which is formed of Al, Cr, Si, and N by physical vapor deposition is formed onto an austenitic stainless steel as a base material, is used.

There is provided a magnetic field generator for MRI 10 applicable to a variety of magnetic field generators, and capable of preventing separation of permanent magnets 20 which constitute permanent magnet groups 14a, 14b. The magnetic field generator for MRI 10 includes a pair of permanent magnet groups 14a, 14b. The pair of permanent magnet groups 14a, 14b each including a plurality of permanent magnets 20 bonded to each other, are opposed to each other with a space in between. The permanent magnet groups 14a, 14b have projections 18 projecting more outward than the area of contact with respective pole pieces 16a, 16b. A flange-shaped member 34 is attached to each outer circumferential surface of the pole pieces 16a, 16b, covering a space-facing surface 18a of the projection 18.

A recycling method for a magnetic field generator, which includes a plate yoke, and a permanent magnet provided on the plate yoke, the magnetic field generator further including a plurality of neodymium magnets bonded together by an adhesive. The magnetic field generator is heated to 200° C.˜1000° C., then at least one of the plurality of neodymium magnets is removed; and a surface of the removed neodymium magnet is polished for reusing the neodymium magnet.

A method for dismantling a magnetic field generator, which includes the steps of providing a plate yoke, and a permanent magnet provided on the plate yoke and having a plurality of neodymium magnets bonded together by an adhesive for the magnetic field generator; heating the magnetic field generator at a temperature of 200° C.˜1000° C.; and thereafter dismantling the magnetic field generator. The dismantling method further includes the step of providing a column yoke connected to the plate yoke for the magnetic field generator.

An object of the present invention is to provide an MRI magnetic field generator with which the magnetic field uniformity within the imaging field of view of the air gap can be adjusted easily and safely, without having to detach the gradient coils, after the MRI magnetic field generator has been installed with gradient coils already mounted on a pair of magnetic pole pieces. After the holder disk 13 has been placed on and fastened to the base disk 11, the magnetic material pellets or permanent magnet pellets for adjusting the magnetic field uniformity are inserted into the required pits disposed in a specific pattern, and if needed, spacers are placed in the gaps between [the pellets] and the cover disk 14 to position everything, after which the cover disk 14 is screwed on to hold everything together. The resulting shim holder 10 is aligned with and fastened to the gradient coil 6 or its support member.
