摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a charge unit, an exposure unit, an exposure voltage detector, a development unit, and a concentration detector. The exposure voltage detector detects a potential of latent image formed as a test pattern on an image carrier. The concentration detector detects concentration of developed test pattern. The image forming apparatus further includes an exposure power controller, an exposure ratio controller, a charging voltage controller, a development bias voltage controller, and an image forming condition adjustment controller. A suitable image forming condition is computed using test patterns formed by changing combinations of charging voltage, exposure power, and exposure duty. The charging voltage is changed in two levels or more. The exposure power is changed in three levels or more. The exposure duty per unit area is changed in two levels or more.

The image forming system includes an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording material and a plurality of sheet-conveying devices that convey the recording material. Furthermore, the image forming apparatus includes a storage unit configured to store connecting orders of the plurality of sheet-conveying devices and a determination unit configured to determine which of the sheet-conveying devices should be given notification by an operation start request or an operation end request according to designation information that designates the sheet-conveying device to which the recording material is conveyed and the connecting orders for the plurality of sheet-conveying devices. Further still, the image forming apparatus includes a transmitting unit configured to transmit an operation start request or an operation end request to each determined sheet-conveying device.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image carrying member, an image forming mechanism, an optical sensor, and a controller. The image forming mechanism performs an image forming operation for forming a reference toner image on the image carrying member under a specific setting associated with the image forming mechanism.
