Abstract:
A texturing system or texture material for applying a desired texture pattern on a patched portion of a surface. The texturing system comprises a texture material, a selecting system, and a dispensing system. The texture material comprises a carrier, a binder, a filler, and a change material.
Abstract:
An aerosol system or method for mixing first and second materials comprising first and second container assemblies and a coupler. The first container assembly contains the second material and a propellant material that pressurizes the second material. The second container assembly contains the first material and at least a partial vacuum. The coupler comprises first and second coupler connecting portions and is arranged such that the first coupler connecting portion engages the first container assembly and the second coupler connecting portion engages the second container assembly. The propellant material and the partial vacuum in the second container assembly cause a portion of the propellant material and at least a portion of the second material to flow into the second container assembly to form a mixture in the second container assembly. The propellant material within the second container assembly forces at least a portion of the mixture from the second container assembly.
Abstract:
A dispensing system for patching a destination surface to match an existing texture pattern. The dispensing system comprises a tube member and a sponge member. The tube member defines a container opening and a container chamber, with stucco material being arranged in the container chamber. The stucco material comprises a base, a carrier, and particulate material. The sponge member defines an applicator surface and a sponge opening. The stucco material is forced out of the tube member through the container opening and the sponge opening and onto the applicator surface. The applicator surface of the sponge member is displaced such that the stucco material on the applicator comes into contact with the untextured portion of the destination surface to transfer texture material in flowable form from the applicator surface to the destination surface. The stucco material is allowed to dry.
Abstract:
A clip for sheet materials comprising a clip member and a collar member. The clip member is made of resilient material such that the clip member may be deformed from a normally open configuration into a closed position. The clip member defines first and second finger portions that do not engage each other when the clip member is in the open configuration and engage each other when the clip member is in the closed position. The collar member defines at least one latch portion, a lever portion, and a housing interior. The collar member is made of resilient material such that applying a force to the lever portion causes the collar member to deform from a normally engaged configuration to a disengaged configuration.
Abstract:
An scraper system for removing acoustic texture materials comprising an integral debris collection assembly. The system comprises a scraper assembly comprising a scraper blade maintained at an angle with respect to a handle portion. A band is provided that defines at least a portion of a rectangular perimeter that, in use, is arranged below the scraper blade. A bag is attached to the band so that acoustic texture material removed by the scraper blade falls into the bag. The band is made of resilient material and is attached to the scraper assembly in a manner that allows the band to deflect when it contacts a wall surface adjacent to the ceiling surface. This allows the scraper blade to reach allow the way to wall surface. But the band returns to its original position with the perimeter defined thereby under the blade when the blade is not scraping near the wall surface.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for applying drywall compound to an irregularity in a wall surface. The drywall compound is formulated to be flowable and placed into an aerosol container with a propellant material. A valve assembly is arranged to allow or prevent fluid flow from the aerosol container. When the valve assembly is opened, the aerosol material expands to force the drywall compound out of the container. A scraper member is arranged on the container to facilitate smoothing of the drywall compound; preferably, the scraper member comprises a scraper edge that is arranged adjacent to an exit opening such that the drywall compound can be dispensed and scraped at the same time.
Abstract:
An aerosol texturing system for applying a layer of texture material on an uncoated portion of a substrate substantially to match a coated portion of the substrate, comprises an aerosol assembly, texture material, and propellant material. The aerosol assembly defines a product chamber and is selectively operable in a first mode in which the product chamber is sealed and in a second mode in which fluid is allowed to flow out of the product chamber along a dispensing passageway. The texture material and propellant material are disposed within the product chamber. The texture material has a base portion and a particulate portion containing at least one particulate material. When the aerosol assembly is in the second mode, the propellant material is adapted to force the texture material out of the aerosol assembly along the dispensing passageway and onto the uncoated portion of the substrate.

Abstract:
A dispensing assembly for an aerosol system for dispensing liquid material comprises an outlet member defining an outlet opening, a selector member, a collar member, an actuator member, and a base member. The collar member supports the selector member. The actuator member supports the outlet member and the collar member. The base member engages the selector member to allow movement of the selector member relative to the collar member. Movement of the selector member relative to the collar member causes movement of the collar member relative to the actuator member. Movement of the collar member relative to the actuator member alters a cross-sectional area of the outlet opening.
Abstract:
A dispensing system for patching an untextured portion of a destination surface to substantially match an existing structure of an existing sprayed on texture pattern on the destination surface surrounding the untextured portion. The dispensing system comprises a container, a sponge member, and a scraper member. Texture material is arranged within the container. The sponge member defines an applicator surface and a sponge opening. The sponge member is secured to the container to such that the container opening and sponge opening are substantially aligned. The scraper member is detachably attached to the container.
