摘要: A catalyst carrier body has a geometrical longitudinal axis, a honeycomb body and a housing. A corrugated casing with an outer side and an inner side is disposed between the honeycomb body and the housing. The corrugated casing is connected to the housing at attachment sections on the outer side thereof by brazing. The attachment sections lie substantially on a common circumferential line and have the narrowest possible width in direction of a longitudinal axis. The attachment sections have an overall surface area permitting them to securely hold the honeycomb body under operating conditions. A high retention degree for the connection between the honeycomb body and housing can thus be achieved even with a shrinking of the diameter of the honeycomb body at end sides during the service life thereof.

摘要: A method for the production of a converter-carrier body having a metallic honeycomb body made of a plurality of metal layers, especially smooth layers and corrugated layers, the layers having layer ends, such that an outer shape of the honeycomb body is formed by the layer ends. At least one stack is produced having several alternately disposed metal layers that are structured such that channels are formed for a fluid to flow through. The at least one stack is transformed into a honeycomb body having a cylindrical form. The honeycomb body is deformed from the cylindrical form so that an outer shape that deviates from the cylindrical form is produced. Additionally, the invention relates to a corresponding converter-carrier body and a tool for the production thereof.

摘要: A honeycomb body includes layered or wound sheet-metal layers at least partially structured to form passages through which exhaust gas can flow. The sheet-metal layers are formed of a special steel with 15 to 25% chromium, typical rare earths necessary for resistance to corrosion at high temperatures and an aluminum content of between 1 and 4.5%. Such a honeycomb body with sheet-metal layers having a thickness of more than 0.06 mm, preferably 0.01 to 0.12 mm, is suitable as a catalyst carrier body for the emission control systems of two-wheeled vehicles or motorcycles, despite its low aluminum content. Sheet-metal layers of this type are even suitable for use in the emission control systems of diesel vehicles with lower thicknesses since the temperatures are lower in these systems, in general below 800° C. Sheet-metal layers containing between 1 and 4.5% aluminum can be derived from other production processes before the aluminum content is increased with additional procedures. As a result, the materials are available very economically.

摘要: A method of producing an encased honeycombed body, in particular a supporting body of a catalytic converter, includes the steps of producing a honeycombed body by stacking and/or winding sheet metal layers, of which at least some are structured sheet metal layers, so that the honeycomb body has channels through which a fluid can flow. A sleeve is introduced into a tubular jacket. The sleeve is smaller in the axial direction than the axial length of the honeycomb body and the tubular jacket. The sleeve has an outer circumferential surface which substantially bears against a part of the inner wall of the tubular jacket. The honeycomb body is introduced into the tubular jacket and into the sleeve and is connected to the tubular jacket and the sleeve. If required, the tubular jacket may also be connected to the sleeve.

摘要: A process for producing a honeycomb body, in particular for an exhaust gas catalytic converter, includes cold-shaping at least one hard metal sheet for at least partially providing the hard metal sheet with a structure. No soft annealing of the hard metal sheet is effected prior to the cold-shaping. The at least partially structured hard metal sheet is layered and wound or it is merely wound. A semi-manufactured honeycomb body is also provided.

摘要: A double-walled housing, in particular for exhaust gas catalytic converters of motor vehicles, includes an inner jacket and an outer jacket approximately concentrically surrounding and spaced apart from the inner jacket. The inner and outer jackets rest tightly against one another at both end surfaces. The inner jacket is kept under compressive strain at least at two end regions by constrictions of the outer jacket. The outer jacket has embossed features oriented toward the inner jacket. The housing is produced by deforming the inner jacket by rolling a metal sheet into cylindrical or conical form while maintaining a parting line. The outer jacket is deformed by rolling a metal sheet into cylindrical or conical form and by connecting mutually meeting edges by a joining technique. The inner jacket is disposed in the outer jacket and the outer jacket is plastically deformed inward over its entire circumference on both end surfaces in such a way that the inner jacket is kept under compressive strain. The outer jacket is provided beforehand or simultaneously with embossed features oriented toward the inner jacket.

摘要: A sheet metal layer of a layer-like configuration with rolled-on brazing material and a process for producing a honeycomb body by stacking and/or winding sheet metal layers made of a layered material. At least a part of sheet metal layers for honeycomb bodies have a structure forming channels through which a fluid can flow. At least part of the sheet metal layers is formed initially of a layered material with at least one layer of chromium-containing steel and at least one mainly aluminum-containing layer, that are homogenized to a large extent during a subsequent heat treatment. The layered material is provided with at least one additional layer made of brazing material when it is produced by rolling, so that during a subsequent heat treatment at least parts of contact locations between the sheet metal layers are joined by brazing. The brazing material is preferably located only in a partial area of a bonding layer of the layered material, preferably in the form of brazing strips that extend along at least one edge.
