A honeycomb structure includes a plurality of substantially parallel channels, a layer of at least partially structured metal foils and a housing. The layer includes a number N of at least partially structured metal foils and a number N+1 of smooth metal foils. The number N=1, 2 or 3 and two of the smooth metal foils are exterior foils. A method for producing such a honeycomb structure is also provided. The honeycomb structure is used, in particular in exhaust gas systems of mobile internal combustion engines.

A fuel distributor for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines has a distributor housing having a plurality of location holes, connected to each other by a fuel supply line, for accommodating electromagnetically actuated fuel injection valves, a hold-down firmly clamped on the distributor housing, for fixing the fuel injection valves in the location holes, and fixing means for fixing the distributor housing to the intake manifold of the internal combustion engine. For the noise decoupling of the fuel distributor from the adjacent add-on pieces, a noise-decoupling flat gasket is placed between the distributor housing and the hold-down on the one hand and the fixing means are formed by rubber-metal elements on the other hand. If the fuel distributor is made of plastic, the rubber-metal elements are preferably made of a clamping bolt, a metallic distance sleeve and a resilient sleeve, which are arranged coaxially in the sequence mentioned and pass through through holes in the distributor housing and hold-down.

A fuel injection system is proposed which serves to adapt the fuel-air mixture as precisely as possible to operating conditions of the internal combustion engine. The fuel injection system includes metering valves, each of which is assigned a regulating valve whose movable valve element can be exposed on one side to the fuel pressure downstream of the respective metering valve and on the other side to a control pressure line defined on one end by a control pressure valve of the nozzle/impact plate type and on the other end by a control throttle. The control pressure valve has a permanent magnet and an electromagnet, the magnetic fluxes of which are guided via an armature in such a manner that in at least one air gap the magnetic fluxes of the permanent magnet and of the electromagnet extend in the same direction, while in at least one other air gap the magnetic fluxes of the permanent magnet and of the electromagnet extend in opposite directions. This kind of embodiment requires a substantially smaller triggering power on the part of the electromagnet. By reversing the exciter current of the electromagnet, the control pressure valve is opened widely enough that the control pressure engaging the regulating valves causes the closure of the regulating valves, and the injection of fuel is precluded.

A fuel supply line discharges into one chamber and a valve seat carrier provided with a valve opening protrudes into this chamber. This chamber also houses a filter element and a valve spring is disposed coaxially with the valve seat carrier between upper and lower spring plates. The filter element is disposed such that a subsequent change in the tension of the valve spring is also possible. To this end, the filter element can engage the upper spring plate on one side in a sealing manner and on the other side can be supported in a sealing manner in a groove of the wall of the chamber (FIG. 1). In order to assure the free mobility of the filter element, it is provided with an elastically deformable area. As shown in FIG. 2, the filter element may, however, also engage the lower spring plate in a sealing manner and with its other end surroundingly engage the spring plate with as little play as possible, to thereby form a labyrinth seal.

A pivoting member, especially the air flow rate meter of an internal combustion engine is disposed on a hub which surrounds a locally fixed shaft. Extending inwardly from the hub is a protrusion, for example a pin, which penetrates an opening in the wall of the shaft which is hollow at this point due to a blind bore extending axially into the shaft. The protrusion is held between two balls or rollers which are located in the blind bore and held in position by cooperation of a spring and an adjustment screw. The adjustment screw has a counter nut which bears on the end face of the shaft and also has gear teeth which engage a first set of threads of a pinion. The pinion has another set of threads of opposite and slightly different pitch so that rotation of the pinion causes differential rotation of the counter nut and permits very precise axial positioning of the hub which carries the pivoting member.

A measuring member and an arbitrarily actuatable throttle flap are disposed, one behind the other, in the suction tube. The measuring member is displaceable in proportion to air quantity and against a resetting force which is normally constant but which is changeable in dependence on engine parameters. A metering valve having a movable part is disposed in the fuel line and coupled to the measuring member. The measuring member actuates the movable part for metering fuel quantity in desired proportion with respect to air quantity. A regulating mechanism, which includes a piston, is actuated in dependence on fuel pressure prevailing downstream from the fuel pump. The piston acts against the force of a spring.

The apparatus includes a lever, which is joined to a shaft of the throttle device and has both a stop screw arranged to cooperate with a stop and an adjusting screw arranged to cooperate with a feeler pin. The feeler pin traces the position of a control body provided with a cam track and the control body can be displaced to a variable extent in a guide bore by means of an expansion element and thereby bring about a variably large rotation of the throttle device and hence a variably large opening of the cross section for the aspirated air during engine idling in the warm-up phase.

A fuel injection system is proposed which serves to supply fuel to a mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engine. The fuel injection system includes an air flow rate member, which actuates a metering and distribution valve. A reservoir is disposed in a pressure control line which branches off from a fuel supply line, by means of which reservoir a flushing valve can be affected in such a manner that below a certain fuel pressure in the pressure control line the flushing valve is opened, as a result of which the fuel supplied to the individual injection valves can flow back through outflow lines to the fuel tank and thus closes the flushing valve above the certain fuel pressure. Above the certain fuel pressure, the electrical circuit of the starter motor is simultaneously closed. Thus, upon starting the engine, all the lines and units of the fuel injection system are filled with fuel, so that a secure start is assured.
