Abstract: An electronic power tool device includes an electronic processor, a communication interface in communication with the electronic processor, and a wake-up sensor configured to generate a wake signal for activating the communication interface and the electronic processor responsive to a stimulus. The communication interface is configured to receive a first electronic message that includes an activation state and transmit the first received electronic message to the electronic processor. The electronic processor is configured to control the activation state of the electronic power tool device to allow or prevent operation of the electronic power tool device based on the first received electronic message.

Abstract: A system and method for or wirelessly securing a tool in a low power mode is provided. In some embodiments, a system comprises a power source interface configured to selectively receive a battery pack; an alternate power source; a controller electrically coupled to the power source interface, and electrically coupled to the alternate power source via a switch; and a communication system electrically coupled to the alternate power source and the power source interface, and operatively coupled to the switch, wherein the communication system comprises a wireless transceiver and a processor, wherein the processor is configured to: establish a wireless connection with an external device; receive a signal from the external device; and in response to the signal, cause the switch to complete a circuit between the alternate power source and the controller.

Abstract: A power tool and method for prioritized communication is disclosed. A power tool may include an electronic controller including a process and a memory, and a transceiver communicatively coupled to the electronic controller. The electronic controller may be configured to determine a power tool location of the power tool and identify a first prioritized set of communication protocols corresponding to the power tool location. The first prioritized set of communication protocols may include two or more communication protocols in a prioritized sequence. Then, the electronic controller may be further configured to transmit, via the transceiver, a communication according to a first communication protocol of the first prioritized set of communication protocols. The first communication protocol may be first in the prioritized sequence.

Abstract: One or more settings of a power tool device can be automatically adjusted based on a location of the power tool device relative to a work object. Work object data that indicate a work object type for the work object can be determined, and work location data can be determined based on the work object data. The work location data indicate work locations on the work object where a power tool device action is to be performed. A position of the power tool device is also determined. An electronic controller can determine a power tool device setting corresponding to the power tool device action to be performed at the work location nearest to the power tool device position. The power tool device setting is transmitted to the power tool device by the electronic controller, where the power tool device setting indicates an operating parameter of the power tool device.
