Abstract:
Disclosed is a device (10) for forming a plurality of accumulators (14) that are combined to form a group (12) and positioned on a supporting element (60). The poles (16) of the accumulators (14) are arranged on the upper wall (20) of a housing. The device comprises a flat component (22) in the form of a plate, frame, grid or the like. A plurality of pole contacts (24,26) corresponding to the poles (16) of the accumulators (14) are arranged on said component. The pole contacts (24,26) are joined to a central electrical supply connection (32) by means of electro-conductive elements (28,30) that are fastened to the component (22).
Abstract:
A fastener assembly includes an elongate fastener, and a support collar mounted on the elongate fastener. The support collar is shaped such that it has profiles on opposite sides of the elongate fastener that are asymmetric with respect to each other. The asymmetry may be an asymmetry in the number, shape, position, or size of recesses on two opposite sides of the elongate fastener. A plurality of fastener assemblies may be provided as a fastener strip, in which each support collar is joined to one or two adjacent support collars in a strip.
Abstract:
A fastener driving tool arranged to drive fasteners into a workpiece includes at least one electric motor having a central stator and an external rotor arranged to rotate around the stator. The rotor may be in the form of a flywheel. The tool includes an energy transfer member such as a driver arranged to transfer kinetic energy from the rotor to a fastener held in the tool, thereby to drive the fastener from the tool into a workpiece. The electric motor may be a brushless motor. The tool may include two such motors, arranged such that both of their rotors propel the driver simultaneously.
Abstract:
A fastener supply assembly for a fastener driving tool includes an outlet passage arranged to expel fasteners from the assembly to a workpiece during use, a magazine comprising a plurality of supply channels arranged to hold fasteners and supply them to the outlet passage, and a channel selector. The channel select has an opening and is arranged to selectively connect, via its opening, the outlet passage with each respective supply channel of the magazine, by movement of the channel selector relative to both the magazine and a longitudinal axis of the outlet passage. The movement of the channel selector may comprise rotation about the longitudinal axis of the outlet passage.
Abstract:
A fastener outlet assembly for a fastener driving tool includes: an outlet passage arranged to expel fasteners from the assembly to a workpiece during use, the outlet passage having one or more walls; and a detector arranged to detect whether a fastener is present in the outlet passage. The detector comprises at least part of a cover that provides at least part of a wall of the outlet passage, the cover being movable with respect to the remainder of the outlet passage to open the outlet passage and gain access thereto.
Abstract:
A reciprocating saw has a tooth form that decreases the cutting time of the saw blade and extends the life of the saw blade. The tooth height is longer than conventional metal cutting reciprocating saws. Also, the tooth form has a larger gullet. The tooth rake angle remains substantially constant during the life of the saw blade.
Abstract:
A channel chisel for forming a channel in a work piece, the channel chisel comprising a shaft having a longitudinal axis, a tip at one end of the shaft, wherein the tip has a cutting edge for cutting a work piece and a flute for removal of debris cut from a work piece, and at least one support member protruding from a side of the channel chisel, characterised in that the support member is adapted to abut and slide along a base of a channel to support the channel chisel in use, wherein support provided by the support member permits the channel chisel to pivot about the support member to change the angle at which the cutting edge cuts a work piece.
Abstract:
A cutting plate (4) has a working end (20) to engage a workpiece and an axis (8) of rotation. A pair of oppositely arranged first faces (34) are inclined axially rearward from the working end (20) in an axial plane intersecting said first faces (34). A pair of second faces (30) are alternately arranged between the first faces (34). The second faces (30) are inclined axially rearward from the working end (20) in an axial plane (37) intersecting the second faces (30), and a pair of axis parallel front faces (24). Each of the front faces (24) is bound on three sides by a respective first face (34) and the pair of second faces (30). Each second face (30) is inclined radially inward from a transitional edge with a respective rotationally leading first face (34) in a plane normal to the axis (8) intersecting the transitional edge with a respective rotationally leading first face (34). Each first face (34) is inclined radially inward from a transitional edge (36) with a respective rotationally leading second face (30) in a plane normal to the axis (8) intersecting the transitional edge (36) with a respective rotationally leading second face (30), as the cutting plate (4) rotates.
