    Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for on-demand system information (SI) delivery. In one novel aspect, an indicator in the minimum system information (MSI) indicates whether an SI or an SI group is delivered with broadcast or unicast. In one embodiment, the UE receives a MSI, obtains from the MSI the other SI (OSI) delivery mode indicator, and sends an on-demand SI request if the OSI delivery mode indicates the unicast delivery mode, otherwise acquires OSI information in a predefined or scheduled period if the OSI delivery mode indicates the broadcast delivery mode. In one embodiment, the delivery mode is unicast and the SI request is sent at a timing or resource explicitly configured in a SI change notification message. In another embodiment, the delivery mode is broadcast and updated SI is obtained based on the scheduling information included in the SI change notification message.

    Abstract: A method of system information (SI) acquisition with reduced signaling overhead is proposed. To reduce SI broadcast overhead, the quantity of periodic SI broadcast and the frequency of on-demand SI acquisition need to be reduced. To reduce the frequency of on-demand SI acquisition, rather than always re-acquire SI when serving cell changes, UE is enabled to reuse stored SI information elements across different cells. More specifically, a novel concept of SI ID is introduced to be associated with an area that applies the same SI configuration. UE can reuse stored SI information elements if the stored SI information elements are valid based on the SI ID and validity check.

    Abstract: Methods are provided to support path selection for a remote UE configured with multipath in a UE-to-network relay. A direct path or an indirect path is set as the primary path. Side information of the indirect path is considered for path selection. A remote UE can select a suitable path by utilizing the side information for path selection to check whether an indirect path can fulfill the QoS requirement of arriving UL traffic. In a network-controlled path selection, the base station can request UE to send side information. The base station indicates the selected path or the change of primary path to the UE via explicit signaling. Each path is identified by a path ID. The path indication is in a granularity of per radio bearer, per QoS flow, per logical channel, or per logical channel group.

    Abstract: A method of joint restriction on resource selection and data multiplexing over sidelink transmission is proposed. The joint restriction method includes four steps of A, B, C, D, and the order of the steps can be different depending on different scenarios. In step A, UE selects a resource pool that satisfies certain configuration. In step B, UE determines resource for transport block (TB) transmission. In step C, UE performs logical channel prioritization (LCP) procedure. In step D, UE provides information of the TB to receiver UE(s) if needed. Under this generic model, the selecting of resource and data are jointly considered to satisfy both resource restriction and data QoS requirements.

    Abstract: Solutions are proposed to handle PRACH resource and beam selection under the following scenarios. First, a CFRA procedure is initiated, but all beams associated with the CFRA resource is below a RSRP threshold and CBRA fallback is not supported. UE continues to perform CFRA by selecting any downlink beam associated with dedicated PRACH resource, and then select dedicated PRACH resource associated with the selected downlink beam; second, a CFRA procedure is initiated but the active UL BWP is not paired with the active DL BWP. Upon CFRA initiation, UE uses current active UL and DL BWP to perform CFRA, and switches to another BWP pair upon all beams associated with the CFRA resource are below a RSRP threshold; third, a CBRA procedure is initiated but the active UL BWP is not configured with PRACH resource. UE selects a special UL/DL BWP to perform the CBRA procedure.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for on-demand SI request procedure. In one novel aspect, the RACH procedure is used for one-demand SI information updates through unicast. In one embodiment, the UE sends an embedded SI request message in Msg3 requesting one or more on-demand SI including a UE ID. The SI response and the information of the requested SI are included in the Msg4 or in a separate unicasted message. In another embodiment, one or more assistant information is included in Msg3 or are associated with the preamble in Msg1. In another novel aspect, the preamble of the Msg1 is associated with a group X of SIB. Upon detecting the failure of transmission of the SI request, the UE monitors and receives updated SI information of the whole group X through a broadcast channel.
